Canada's doctors (the Canadian Medical Association) is pestering the federal government to spend more on health care. Constitution 101: *provinces* are responsible for health care delivery. Health Act transfers (about $40B/year) are meant to roughly equalize Canadians' access to care. /2

The politicking around a new west coast oil pipeline is almost done. Now the real work begins — and the real challenge reveals itself.

Beyond the fact that it’s incredibly illegal and corrupt to use taxpayer dollars to run political ads on television, there’s another problem with re-running old ads like this: the messaging only reminds everyone what a fraud you are.
Black-and-white image of Donald Trump standing in a hallway from a recent ad he ran on TV with taxpayer funds. White subtitle text on a black bar at the bottom displays what Trump’s voiceover says in the ad: “we will expel the warmongers from our government.”

This is the part many Americans -- including the Bezosites at the Washington Post -- don't understand. Canadians don't see this just as a Trump thing. It's that America elected him twice, and the second time with an even bigger mandate. The problem we're addressing is America, not Trump.

If Donald Trump could replace Alberta's oil with Venezuelan barrels, he'd be doing it already. Heck, he's *trying* to do it. And yet, for some reason, Alberta's premier refuses to stand up to him -- or let Canada use its strongest weapon in the trade war.
