I’ve been trying to think of the words to say but I’m not quite sure what I even should say. I guess at this moment I’ll just make it clear that it’s normal and natural to feel hurt or betrayed when you find out someone you trusted and saw as safe is an abuser and I hate how this keeps happening

It is interesting to me you agree your punishment was mild but continued to avoid repercussions by never disclosing this fact to most, if not all, of your future collaborators or your audience. You have benefited from a system that protects predators over victims and did nothing to remedy that.

What a shame you knew all of this happened and continued to speak on the sexual violence women in this industry have faced, knowing full well you were part of the problem.

On Jacob Geller

I'm aware of the rape allegations against Jacob Geller, as well as the fact that his name is on a court-ordered list of UNC students disciplined for sexual violence. I've hesitated on whether to post anything about it, because the victim hasn’t been identified and I don’t want to participate in a retraumatizing conversation against their wishes. At the same time, as someone who has collaborated with Jacob Geller, I do not want my silence to be taken as endorsement.

For my part, I did not know about this and I wish I had. What justice and repair look like in cases like these are for the victim to decide, and I do not know their wishes or what accountability processes, if any, took place. However, strictly on a personal level, I’m uncomfortable having collaborated with someone who has presented himself as a nonthreatening feminist without ever disclosing his history of sexual violence to me or any other colleagues I’ve spoken to. I have no intention of ever working with Geller again. Beyond that, the person this happened to ought to be the ultimate authority on what happens next, and how they wish to tell their story if at all.

I do believe that a victim should be the one telling the victim's story, not a third party. It's difficult because when I talked openly about what ShadyVox had done to me, multiple other people came to me privately and told their own stories and explained they were too scared to share theirs.

The fact someone can commit sexual assault and be punished in a discrete manner so as not to “ruin their life” and then years later become a popular entity in media, causing even more trauma when the assault is revealed? If the initial punishment didn’t favor the assaulter, this’d be less common.

I'm sadly not as invested in Fortune's Weave storytelling than I've been with Three Houses. Bummer. Besides the Nabatean/Agarthan lore segments and a few support conversations, I find both part 2 and part 3 to be less interesting than Dietrich's, Leda's, Cai's and Theodora's path 1s.

No, SungWon is absolutely correct here. The insistence on sticking with the Japanese title when there is already a perfectly acceptable English one is utterly asinine. Nobody does this in Japanese literature, or film, or any other art form. It's just the anime nerds who insist on being obtuse.

Fortune's Weave sorta creates a bunch of plotholes when it comes to Sothis, the Nabateans and Nemesis. Though some people would say that since this is the past, that it debunks a few things that historians got wrong in Three Houses. Something tells me there has been a lot of retcons either way.

I don't like that Fortune's Weave sorta spoils an important plotline from Three Houses right from the prologue. Which was the sci-fi element of it all. Like, we all know this is a prequel now but come on... newcomers will play Three Houses and there won't be any more surprise for them in some paths.

I don't like how I can't seem to adapt to my new glasses prescription at all. My left eye is more fatigued than the right side and sometimes, pictures move on their own in the left eye, without moving the eye willingly. This happened to me a few years ago as well when my prescription was outdated.

There's one element of Fortune's Weave which I'm not sure I'll like, once I get to play the game, and it's the world map micromanagement system. Later in the game, you can send multiple squads to do multiple tasks and as the UI itself is on the small side for me, it will be a struggle.

Fire Emblem: Three Houses and Fortune's Weave's lore is so good that I can't stop thinking about it. Some people are upset about the scifi elements on some streams I've been watching, but dang, is it good to finally see what was alluded to in Three Houses. You could say, they're my new Dragon Age.

Fire Emblem Fortune's Weave currently has an 89 Metacritic Average based on 45 reviews. Switch 2 already has a huge library of great RPGs, but Fire Emblem Fortune's Weave is now one of the best. It's a 'Game of the Year' worthy game from Nintendo alongside Pokemon Pokopia.
