I had the same thing happen, but we were home. The canvassers aren‘t getting paid to talk with voters. They are just paid to by the door hanger. It’s a sign of a campaign with lots of money and no grassroots support.

Norway has so many amazing things to see - the inexpensive no-reservation ferry system, the tunnels to get around all the fjords and mountain ranges, and the train infrastructure make Norway a really great family trip. It’s an amazing place I hope to return to, and maybe retire to.

Our family recently visited the BM, traveling all the way from Alaska. I was proud when, at every amazing thing we saw, they asked why it belonged in the BM. Or they exclaimed how it should be in a site, or museum in it’s originating country. My son exclaimed, “This is like a grave robber’s loot.”

If only AK could follow Norway’s lead and invest in infrastructure. We just did a 600 mile EV roadtrip there last month. Ultrafast (250-400kW) chargers in nearly every village. The longest wait to get our high capacity battery (340 mile range) from 45% to 100% was 22 minutes.

Doodles are the besting fishing dogs. My labradoodle, Clover, often tries to help cast, and land the fish. Once she even save a fish that broke free right at shore. She had none of that and jumped into the water and gently retrieved the fish with only a couple of small punctures. 🐶❤️🎣

This advice used to work for me, even at -20 or -30 - but only when I warmed up the car and lay down on the hood. The warmth from the engine at my back and the blanket to hold in that heat would work for about 15-20 minutes.

I love making Chili in my pressure cooker. Making any beans/legumes from dry instead of canned tastes so much better. Do you have a combo unit with an air fryer too? If so, I have a killer tofu crumble that we use to substitute for ground beef that even the kids enjoy.

Juneau has nearly broken the all-time record snowfall. The kids celebrated making the 3rd highest snowfall ever by sledding down out 9’+ pile of snow in our front yard. There is a fence and then a ditch, it you can’t even tell.

Alaska law: businesses that experience a data breach must report it "in the most expeditious time possible" or face fines of up to $500 for each resident who was not provided with notice. This includes Social Security number. A class action suit states against the feds could get some traction.

Nearly all of our bills are electronic, but my uncle’s long term care exceeds all the monthly limits allowed for electronic bill payment systems. I have to pay with physical check and it’s crazy how slow and unreliable USPS has become in the last year.

In January our regular bill pay for my uncle’s care was returned undeliverable. That hasn’t happened in 5 years of the same monthly payment. Why didn’t Biden replace Dejoy with someone competent? Instead we are left with another Trump appointee who wants to destroy mail-in-voting.

My oldest son will be 18 next year. He is terrified about this war and the people making the decisions that could change his life. Tonight we talked through all his options. He learned about conscientious objectors like Muhammad Ali, as well as many other choices he can make. Knowledge is power.

One of the favorite things about our 3-year-old Honda snowblower is it shuts down the engine when it detects enough force on the auger to shear a pin. I have spare pins, but never had to replace one. I wouldn’t wish on my worst enemy shearing a pin without a spare during a snow storm.

When I was young and idealistic, I used to believe we were the good guys. Patriotism lifted our grandfathers and fathers when they returned from war. Those medals meant something. Now I’m not sure whether our nation has fallen, or my eyes have been opened. Either way - we are not the good guys.
