Techbox @techbox.bsky.social · 11/10/2026For me, the spiritual fix has been building push-button automation for the stuff people don’t want to do by hand, but including explainer agents that can help people learn. Turns out wanting to make people’s lives easier was the important part, even more so than the fun puzzles. 010
Techbox @techbox.bsky.social · 11/10/2026I do kind of get this as a fellow neurodivergent who enjoyed the “needle in a haystack” class of problems where you dive deep into a code base/spec that no-one else wanted to understand, map it out, and squash longstanding bugs. It’s a puzzle that has been (mostly) solved by good LLM usage. 100

Techbox @techbox.bsky.social · 24/09/2026I do think it’s pretty evident that AI also amplifies any disfunction an org might have. It’s imo one of the big reasons you see more holdouts in bigger older orgs, (slow lumbering bureaucracies, misaligned incentives to ship LOC rather than specific stuff, etc.). 120
Techbox @techbox.bsky.social · 24/09/2026I like the implication that when you leave the special forces, they let you take a couple billion dollars worth of future tech home with you as a lil' treat, like you're taking a pack of pens from the supply closet. 141

We've had so many folks getting burned out by alert fatigue/IR/etc., having the robots running in multiple different directions gathering data and firing off runbooks before you even open your laptop is gonna really feel like the future. 110
Techbox @techbox.bsky.social · 08/09/2026Wow, yeah, have to read this as a top 10 extremely unfortunate coincidence. I'm sure the conspiracy-spinning is in no-parts helped by OpenAI botching HuggingFace, but if they actually intentionally-abused side channels, that's a sev-0 incident for every downstream partner. Would be catastrophic. 020

Techbox @techbox.bsky.social · 13/08/2026I really like Cory Doctorow’s formation of this problem as the “centaur vs. reverse-centaur” configuration. In the centaur config, humans would still be in the driver seat, and stuff like Claude would be used exclusively for the pain points: filling out test suites, code review assist, etc. (1/2) 181

Techbox @techbox.bsky.social · 09/08/2026There’s something to be said that folks are finally willing to admit that tech works on using the collective works of fellow engineers, rather than Great Man Theory, and AI just completely smooths over that attribution and lets the myth persist. 010
