I'd like to say there will be more regular updates, but it's unlikely. Making social media posts can be a pain and we/I would rather worry more about the actual development of the game for the time being. However, I will try to post more random teasers in the future. - @guwahavel.bsky.social

I'd like to go into more detail, but I'll limit it to mentioning that our game has 2 stage tracks and 1 boss track, made by our musician, @pittsbourne.bsky.social. They feature layers, transitions, and have been integrated into the flow of the game. Hopefully you will get to hear them soon.

We've implemented a lot of small pieces of feedback from the playtest, and our next items are reworking 2 of our characters and 1 of our bosses to raise their quality. In doing this, future characters and bosses will be improved by holding them to the same design standard.

Limelight Directive @teamoglobin.bsky.social · 03/05/2026

Despite this, we have accomplished a lot in this period, including a round of playtesting with friends of ours. Our takeaway from that was despite everything, the game needed more refinement still, but the path forward and the vision of the project is now clearer then ever.

Limelight Directive @teamoglobin.bsky.social · 03/05/2026

The long delay was because I wanted to get the game in a more polished state, and address some of the underlying issues with the game's design first. Then, I decided when we did start making posts again, we should show off of a bunch of cool things at once. This all compounded.

Hello. It's been awhile. Despite how it may seem, the rate of development on Limelight Directive has continued at the relatively same pace since our last update.

Merry Christmas! We've been continuing to work hard on the game since our last update. Our 2nd boss is functionally complete (but needs its assets cleaned up and visual polish), and we've started to add Augments for our 3rd character (Artillery). #indiegame #indiedev #gamedev

We want to do some more teasers hopefully soon, right now we are making a bunch of cool stuff so when we post more teasers we'll have a lot of exciting things to show at once!

We've also finally found a composer and implemented music for our game! The game is in an excellent state right now, and its getting even better as we get closer and closer to a playable demo.

Hi everyone! It's been awhile, but we're still working on this! There were some tough-to-solve design problems with our game, which is why we stopped posting teasers so we could focus on them, but those problems have been solved and progress has gone smoothly!

Some Trinkets have been found to have special "Conditions", giving them additional properties! Some are simple benefits, while others offer some kind of trade-off... maybe a Trinket you wouldn't usually take is more appealing if it's Vintage! #gamedev #indiedev #indiegame #godot

When entering checkpoints, you will occasionally come across a Recycler, allowing you to exchange one of your Trinkets for a different one. The types of deals they offer can vary, so always be sure to check them! #indiegame #indiedev #gamedev #godot

Concept art -> In-game Not all of my concept art is this sloppy but sometimes it's just about conveying the positioning of things more than anything. This is also why you should make artist friends. - @guwahavel.bsky.social #indiedev #indiegame #gamedev #godot

If you make it to the Wildlands, you will have the first chance to enter a Crucible to obtain an Augment, powerful upgrades which each character has their own exclusive selection. The goal is for each one to change the how the game is played!

Did You Know?: The Walking Turret enemy used to be able to summon reinforcements. If exploited by the player, this could allow them to spawn so many of them that it lagged the game. To fix this, the Walking Turret enemy was scrapped and replaced by the "Strolling Shooter".

Trinkets in Limelight Directive are stackable, so here's an example: Gunpowder is a Trinket which increases the radius of explosions. You may be tempted to use it to make the size of your Blast massive, until you remember it affects EVERY explosion.

Each stage will have checkpoints which give you some basic resources, but more importantly an opportunity to open a Package. Within these boxes, you will be presented several pieces of "worthless" garbage, referred to as "Trinkets", which you can take to gain various boosts.

Limelight Directive @teamoglobin.bsky.social · 23/05/2025

Fun Fact: Scraps was originally planned to have a mouth in their design. However this was "scrapped" due to the fact that they would not stop screaming unless it was removed.

The Wildlands, the 2nd area in Limelight Directive. With wires for veins and dried grass for skin, most machines can trace the source of their energy to somewhere within. Being the only area that could be still considered "alive", things get gloomier from here.
