I’m somewhat involved with this (mostly for the upcoming Kickstarter campaign) BUT as a fan of Disco Elysium this was a no brainer. My fav mechanic is that the more you lean right the more you think about your penis

Life-saving trick: make a folder and create an automation to send all emails with "Unsubscribe" written somewhere to that folder (I call it "Newsletters"). It's the only thing keeping me sane some days, and I can go through them at my own pace (or not).

I have the strong feeling HR departments everywhere are in disarray because on one hand they want to use AI to reduce workload, on the other they can’t come to terms with the fact that people can fight fire with fire

The video game industry has always been volatile (I published Press Reset in 2021!) but the skeleton key to understanding the current state of things is this: Big games now cost 10x to make what they did 15 years ago but most do not generate even close to 10x the revenue. Simple as that

Despite how bizarre some sequences and gameplay choices are, can’t deny this one too has a strong identity and will stay with me as one of those games I’m glad I played

Tommaso of the Endless @tdebenetti.bsky.social · 08/09/2026

Gameplay-wise this one had more options but it didn’t always make it better, and I remember feeling more the struggle in the first one. Both games have some incredibile landscapes and visuals. Both have a great soundtrack (maybe it’s a bit all over the place in this second one)

Finished Death Stranding 2 today. The final chapters are WILD. I really think Kojima needs someone who tells him no sometimes, but still, some moments were very emotional, and as a father, I cried a little at the end. Quite a rollercoaster

8yo: how much will you get paid to write your book Me: uh, I don't know. Authors are paid in royalties so each time someone buys the book they get like $2 8yo: that seems like a bad deal Me: I dunno, what if my book sells a million copies? How much would I make? 8yo: well that's not gonna happen

…premium mobile is dead; big platforms are exploitative and suffer from changing demographics. Day 1 releases are priced incredibly high to account for fast discounts. Physical games are being phased out, early access is barely a thing, etc. Everyone is getting fucked left and right

Right now, no business model seems to be working for gaming: cloud gaming works like shit and is getting capped, a single big game is a death sentence for 50 others, digital distribution offers little advantages and several minuses, there’s subscription fatigue, free-to-play is the Hunger Games…

Our Berserk / A Song of Ice and Fire–inspired dark fantasy game, Valraven: The Chronicles of Blood and Iron, is today's Deal of the Day on DriveThruRPG. www.drivethrurpg.com/en/product/5... That means you can grab the PDF for a ridiculously low $8.31 (7.17€) instead of the usual $27.86 (24€).

There isn’t a sloppier company in Finland than UPS. After pretending to deliver at home, like they always do, they brought my package to the “nearest collection location” which has not been communicated to me in any way. I have to guess it. I know where it because this keeps happening but wtf

There’s a level of “not being ok” that seems almost crucial to make art that leaves a mark

000

Tommaso of the Endless @tdebenetti.bsky.social · 01/08/2026

I’ve come to terms with the fact that the art is almost always bigger than the artists. It’s not only JK Rowling (I don’t even like HP), it’s everybody else too. Never meet your heroes or almost inevitably you’ll start to question wtf were you thinking

Can someone working in HR explain to me what are the challenges of the current job market (regardless of where). I understand that each job gets thousands of applications done with AI but on the other hand HR also uses AI to screen CVs causing all kind of problems. Where do you go from here?

000

Tommaso of the Endless @tdebenetti.bsky.social · 31/07/2026

Hit with the first instance of artist changing job because of AI so he’s not available for upcoming projects. Sucks because he has a peculiar style and to keep consistency I need to ask someone else to emulate him.

3rd of Silo is the weakest thus far. I haven’t read the prequel books and I don’t know if they are faithful to that, but the decision to intertwine two timelines results in poor pacing. I would have preferred dedicated episodes for each. I also don’t remember half of this stuff from the Silo books

000

Tommaso of the Endless @tdebenetti.bsky.social · 28/07/2026

The problem is that these companies should sell you time, and if they can’t, there needs to be fewer games, period. The offer right now is overabundant and no one can stay on the top of it

000

Tommaso of the Endless @tdebenetti.bsky.social · 28/07/2026

Expedition 33 would have probably raised to everyone awareness anyway, but being in GamePass gave it killer exposure. I wouldn’t touch a JRPG with a stick these days and tried that and loved it. I think there’s a lot of delusion about how well things would sell “if only”

100

Tommaso of the Endless @tdebenetti.bsky.social · 28/07/2026

There’s a lot of negativity about the effects of GamePass on the industry but let’s be honest, many of the games in there would have not sold well regardless, and some probably wouldn’t even have become so popular without being included
