Brutal and heartbreaking. These scams target the likely, vulnerable and the elderly. They prey on people who don't have much and take everything they can get. I can only hope these people will be caught and prosecuted but the victims will never see a penny of their money back.

I've had a lot of thoughts on high rise apartments over the past few years. I went from "Ptbo isn't the right place" to "well maybe smaller ones are alright." Now? Build em. Build as many as you can. We won't see a significant drop in rent prices without them.

I don't think it's actually a bad thing to pay #PTBO city councillors more. The pay they get for the amount of work required makes it so the position is only viable for retirees or folks with passive income like business owners. The mayor, on the other hand? I think they're paid enough.

Glad this got approved despite opposition from neighbours. I do feel sorry for them, there will be impacts of living next to a community with high needs, but this type of triage housing for chronically unhoused people is desperately needed.
