The UK is among the worst nations in Europe for child poverty. In the UK, 11% of 15-year-olds reported they had skipped a meal in 2022 because there wasn't enough money to buy food. In the Netherlands and Finland, this number was 3%.

Crucial point here that additions to the waiting list are lower than before.GPs are using advice and guidance & also using our gatekeeper role to ensure referrals that are made are necessary. We must ensure that people who need procedures such as operations or specialist treatment, still get them

We're at a crossroads, says @liamloftus.bsky.social. Carry on as we are, partnership won't exist in 15 years. Young GPs like the positive things which come with partnership, but the risk/reward ratio is skewed too heavily to risk - the financial cost, the personal toll. #NTSummit

What does @becksfisher.bsky.social think then? Partnership won't be the dominant model in 15 years. The financial challenges in the system are probably too great, trust has been lost since the 2004 contract. We need to plan actively for alternatives. To do that, we need clarity of purpose. #NTSummit

Thoughtful session now #NTSummit on race equity in health and care. @stephaniehatch.bsky.social says despite the WRES, there has not been an improvement in racism and discrimination over time. All staff are impacted by structural and cultural contexts generating and perpetuating racial inequities.
