Chrysocolla sounds like a butterfly species, and is just as delicate and mesmerizing. Commonly found with glorious-green copper minerals like malachite, you just can't help but fall in love with these interference colors. Vote the copper beauty this round! #MinCup26 ⚒️

From Alex Streikesen: "Fibrous aggregates of chrysocolla (high interference colors). Copper ore, Arizona (USA). XPL image, 10x (Field of view = 2mm)". Link: https://www.alexstrekeisen.it/english/meta/chrysocolla.php

Kukri snakes are so cool: they exapted their unusual egg shell-slicing teeth for taking chunks out of prey, like eviscerating toads to avoid their poisonous glands. This makes them the only (afaik) snakes which can effectively prey upon vertebrates too large to swallow!

I saw art of a Meraxes (the dinosaur) fighting a dragon earlier today (well, more like about to be killed by it), and I wanted to say I don’t think I’ll ever be over the concept of real animals fighting dragons.

But in the context of the movie worked. I think the same thing with the costume for Agamemnon, when they open the gate and he stands behind it like Darth Vader it really works. Overall a 9.5/10 from me. I hope that they preserve the set of Troy made for this movie because it looks beautiful

Im very curious how different this movie will sound on home release/streaming, the sound design seemed to rely on surround-sound theater speakers. I hope it gets mixed well. Lines like "Our age of bronze is collapsing" and "you're the people from the sea" made me groan a little...

And it's not a historical story anyway. The symbolism of Athena representing Ody's guilt about the sack of Troy was nuce but I wish Athena had more of a divine presence. I like the order of events starting on Ithaca with the journey of Telemachus, like books 1-4 do...

Not very faithful to Homer's epic but it had good themes for modern audience sensibilities. Costume and prop designs are weak and look a little goofy (such as the giants). Historiocity I don't really care for because no Sword & Sandals movie has period accurate costumes or props...

It is better to abstract non-mammalian synapsids to “protomammals” rather than “mammal-like reptiles” or even just “reptiles”. It’s not too arcane - if people know what a mammal is, they’ll know what a protomammal is. They were using this word on Discovery Kids, y’all
