This essay rules. So smart, so rooted in current reality, and so kind to a general understanding of autism. Which is a sidebar to the main point but “as an autistic person” I appreciated it so much. Articulated everything better than I could have. thebaffler.com/latest/overm...

Sometimes I think writing is the art and function of litigating the lived experience, unpacking good v bad morality, defining codes of ethics. Challenging status quo and status itself. What else

We need a rebranding of "soft skills" cause that labeling is both offensive and diluting to a really necessary skill that quietly keeps work offices in tact - if not from falling into a sterile, psychopatic hell hole. It's as "hard" of a skill as technical ones - just more covert and unseen at times

Media - or astute media, most well represented by the NYTimes institution and many people under it - has a class issue. it affects its ideologies, culture, and steering of popular conversation. When most ppl have only known financial and class/status comfort, you will inevitably get a

I wrote about the "tiktokifcation" (I know, I know, pls let us have one more go at this trend phrasing) of autism-affirming language online (I'm autistic) www.bustle.com/life/tiktok-...

The TikTok-ification Of Autism Language
On TikTok, creators freely use terms associated with autism and neurodivergence: stimming, vocal stims, hyperfixations. As an autistic person, I wondered what to make of it.

I wrote about the waning momentum of Bluesky, the challenges it faces to stay afloat while not compromising on its ethos, and the limitations of ideological synchronicity (even if they are of ideals I/others are aligned with) www.fastcompany.com/91528304/blu...

Bluesky set out to fix social media. Now it's running into familiar problems
Early momentum brought in power users and journalists. But slow growth and a loud monoculture are making the platform feel narrower than it intended.

Shout out to brave workers pushing against AI - even when it means compromising their own good standings at the company. I understand having to play ball to stay fed on payroll. So it’s extra brave to compromise it to stay principled.

Hey psst your overlords need you to keep blaming yourself for why you’re not financially or vocationally where you think you need to be so you keep working harder and taking more personal responsibility (and off the responsibility of your overlords) hope this helps

Can I say. Among the out of touch hollywood gaggle who compulsively put their own image and likeness and needs first above all else I've been so heartened to hear from big names like Mark Ruffalo and Kristen Stewart about preserving the actual virtues of the arts and film-making and writing

Kanye and his music used to stoke so much realness and creative inspiration. I can't believe he has single-handedly and systemically sabotaged his artistry, legacy, and his day one fans. College dropout changed so many things internally for people. It's so sad and frustrating.
