It's sadly not unexpected given how everything is. But man, you'd think they could at least set their auto reject form emails to not send out right after submission. 😂

But they sure love to throw around "after careful coordination" and other such language in their terrible form rejections. Y'all could at least make it so your rejection doesn't come immediately after submission lmao.

Paige ✨ @tanosski.bsky.social · 4h

I love completing what I know is an unpaid proofreading test for a company only to get an instant rejection two minutes after submitting. Like companies aren't even bothering to try and hide the fact that they don't read resumes and they don't look at all of these unpaid tests they want from people.

My latest! Many of my foundational years gaming were spent with the portable era of Kingdom Hearts. I genuinely miss how many weird, experimental games we got. With these latest ports, I wanted to focus exclusively on those and write about how they've been preserved in the modern collections.

Even more unsustainable than it already was at that. I hate it here.

The pervasiveness of AI usage is another reason I want to leave content writing in full. It's wrecked my career, the careers of my friends, and it's making writing as a whole un-fucking-sustainable as a line of work.

I will go back to not posting about it here though bc genuinely it does nothing but make me feel awful and I haven't seen anything come of posting on socials from it anyway so like what's the point. The job and freelance gig market is cooked and I'm barely surviving lol.

Incredibly depressing they had to furlough people to begin with. The games industry is just... such a hot mess right now.

Alrighty, last post on this for a bit but I'm looking for a job! That's the post. Looking for an editorial, comms, PR, or community management (even journalism if possible) role, but literally open to anything tbh. Open to remote work or relocating, evaporating, etc... from Florida.

Paige ✨ @tanosski.bsky.social · 05/10/2026

I do mean this genuinely. People act like Tumblr is a dead platform when it's very much not and indie games of all flavors kind of do pop off on there with players all the time.

010

Paige ✨ @tanosski.bsky.social · 04/10/2026

Same! And tbf, assuming it's Maomao and Jinshi, I really like their dynamic lol. But literally so refreshing for a demi/ace coded character to be the main character AND getting a romance where she's not treated like... weird for being ace/demi.

010

Paige ✨ @tanosski.bsky.social · 04/10/2026

(I also REALLY appreciate how demi/ace coded Maomao is. Like it's SO nice to see.)

110

Paige ✨ @tanosski.bsky.social · 04/10/2026

Same. I genuinely had no idea there was a solving mystery element to it OR that it had so much focus on a woman surviving/navigating such circumstances to the best of her ability. And it really does hit so differently after the Cornell bullshit.

110

Paige ✨ @tanosski.bsky.social · 04/10/2026

Not even joking I just started watching yesterday myself and I'm on episode 8 too!! It's SUCH a good show and so timely. I genuinely wish I'd watched it sooner.

110

Paige ✨ @tanosski.bsky.social · 04/10/2026

More indie games should be on Tumblr for marketing and community engagement purposes imo.

I skipped high school to buy tickets for The Phantom Menace. The following day my Dad asked ," how was school?" I replied, " It was fine " He then threw this newspaper at me and asked , " how the fuck would you know?" He was so pleased with himself that I didn't actually get in trouble.

One thing I've noticed is that upstart worker-owned places are trying our best to pay as much as possible, but because none of us have millions is still far from how much we want to pay. But the rates at the big media companies haven't budged or gotten worse objectivejournalism.org/2026/09/free...

Freelance journalism rates have barely changed since 2000

New data from the National Writers Union offers a glimpse into a bleak picture of decades-long wage stagnation in freelance journalism.

context. sentiment. inferences. People seriously cannot do these things anymore. That’s why they angrily demand you spell out every joke, every reference, super duper promise you mean something only this one prescribed way. They cannot do it for themselves or tolerate the any ambiguity.
