I LOVE my Thermino! It's the single best investment we've made outside of the solar!

The pros are that I love not having radiators. I definitely wouldn't recommend it if you don't have solar. It might not help much in the winter, but being able to bank up credit throughout the year makes it affordable. We just did it all a bit backwards. I'll be monitoring a lot this winter!

Or it could be that pedophiles & psychopaths are starting wars, treat government positions as a giant cookie jars, while they allow billionaires are destroy the climate, using their money to control all media to sew racism and division so we don't burn them all at the stake. Who wants kids now?

We now have 100mm internal wall, underfloor, and 400mm loft insulation, and furniture in the house. Once I've finished the bookshelves in the living room, we'll even have rugs, so really hoping all of that keeps more heat in the room for longer and that we won't have to use our space heater too.

January was our most expensive month, just over £300. December was about £250, February £200. The real difference is that this year we've had the solar all summer, so we've backed up about £750 in credit (by paying £50 per month plus about £300 in credit from seeking back excess)

Expensive. We had it installed just in the living room on 6 October last year and were only heating that room and occasionally the hallways because we were sleeping and working in one room until early January. The loft insulation went in in December and IWI in March, right as we turned the heat off.

Good timing, as I think I may need to resort to turning the heat on this week! We've essentially had it off since early April, so this will be our first cold season with the NexGen and insulation!

Hegseth also removed the olive branches, a traditional symbol of wishing peace, from the Department of Defense seal. This, in addition to changing the name to "The Department of War," shows the dangerous belligerency that comes from appointing a frat bro who values testosterone over statesmanship.

This would be national suicide. I think people really don't understand how many jobs and companies rely on Warm Homes. After the Eco massacre, this would be the end of most retrofit companies.

I know Rahm Emanuel. I worked with him for years in the Clinton administration, and then when he was Obama’s chief of staff. Rahm Emanuel represents everything that’s been wrong about the Democratic Party for the last 30+ years. Be warned. robertreich.substack.com/p/the-rahm…

It's over all savings... Which to me is the profit 😉 It also helps that we just paid cash for ours (we have an integrated solar roof), so it's hard to separate the full cost from just the solar.

Eco mode on my Givenergy battery means it uses the energy in the house first and basically runs it down to 20%.

100 0

We went off the intelligent tariff as @octopus.energy just kept our battery at 100% all of the time, so while it was nice to sell at the same price we bought at, the fact that they disable Eco mode on our battery was the final straw. We actually want to use the energy we generate first, sell second.

Absolutely, our tariff this year is RUBBISH! We earned 44% of what we earned in 2026 just in the 3 months of 2025 where it PV was active. And since we only sold back a bit under £20 worth this month, I'm guessing the rest of the year will be nominal at best.

That's just the excess... We used a bit more energy directly from the PV & battery than what we sold back, so if we had bought all of the energy we used during that time from the grid, we would have more than doubled the amount we had to buy.

100 0

Maybe slightly less given than the standing charge was about £200 during that time, but worst case, we're averaging about £100 profit per month by having the solar.

Our PV (4.5kWh, 5.5 kWh battery) went live 4 July 25 & in 14 months has generated 5,821 kWh. We sold 2880 kWh back to the grid, earning £464. During that time our actual energy costs were £1115. We used 2941 kWh directly from our PV, saving us slightly more than we spent! Direct profit: over £1600!
