He doesn’t deserve any kind of harm — v few ppl do — but I imagine you can see how continuously engaging in this kind of behaviour into the wee hours of the night w random drunk ppl at a bar might subject him to a materially higher risk of being punched in the face than someone who didn’t do that?

Also from this article: “I'm a guy who believes things, and I'll be obnoxious about them until something gives.” “I have a higher tolerance, maybe, to be abused, and to just tunnel-vision on something…You're just not willing to be annoying. Be annoying! Don't worry if people find you obnoxious…”

Pope Leo picks formerly undocumented immigrant to lead West Virginia Catholics
Pope Leo, who elevated Bishop Evelio Menjivar-Ayala and the Rev. Robert Boxie III, has drawn a clear contrast with the Trump administration on immigration and the Iran war.

Two things can be true: Congress should pass uniform, national legislation reining in partisan gerrymandering; and Until that happens, or every state adopts an independent redistricting commission, neither party is going to (or, frankly, should) unilaterally disarm.

…are: (1) regional fragmentation, which tends to be corrosive to 🇨🇦‘s long-term survival as a nation, and (2) a substantial amount of confused + impractical foolishness on the left (I’m looking at the NDP + Greens, both of which are now mostly refuges for useless dilettantes + scam artists)

🇨🇦 who trained in political science here. 🇨🇦 doesn’t have a true “multi-party” electoral system — It has the Westminster system inherited from 🇬🇧, which is fundamentally a system optmized for 2 parties that alternate winning majority gov’ts. The reasons 🇨🇦 sustains multiple parties on a long-term basis…

i think both sides start calling out grid point references on the maritime emergency radio network, usually an alphanumeric combination. When either side loses a vessel they must announce "you sank my XXXX" with the ship type over the radio.

To be fair — similar to gerrymandering — my understanding is that Orban’s *own changes* to the electoral system that he made to enable him consolidate power made it more likely that a relatively small popular vote majority by the other side would translate into a representational supermajority!
