It's been a very long time since a game has made me *feel* like Ace Combat 8. Exceeded my wildest expectations and delivered its story of empowerment and hope in a way that only this franchise can. Amazing music, gorgeous visuals, addicting gameplay, and earnest, heartfelt writing.

Best guess is it's because Reagan publicly attacked Carter's cancelling the B-1A (in favor of missiles and stealth tech) as his being weak on defense. Reagan un-cancelled the program, which was very expensive and for minimal gain. So, media suckering the public into supporting something wasteful

Today was my 9-year anniversary at my job. I never intended or wanted to be here so long. I didn't even go to school for civil engineering, and I didn't seek the profession out. Turns out I'm good at it, but it feels so emblematic of my barely knowing who I even am or what I truly want from life.

Yes, 100%! I'm really glad that 7 did so well, but it is not my favorite entry (beyond for almost inarguably saving the franchise). 6 is my personal favorite, though I am biased since that was my first. But yes! Large battles, melodrama, crazy superweapons... what more could one ask for?
