Kerkez worries me tbh. Mostly because he's not a smart player, and I like smart players. I loved his intensity, and I don't doubt he'll give everything, but I feel likes very simple minded. Doesn't read the game, situations or opponents well. Just runs around like a bull terrier.

Jacquet is the complete package. Phenomenal 1vs1, dominant in the air and duels, a fantastic progressing passer, and leadership traits (Captained multiple France youth teams). Even positionally he looks strong and ussually that's something CBs take time to learn, saved Virgil a few times.

Trey Nyoni shows every time he plays why I wanted him to start first game of the season and I still want him to start. Perhaps the gradual approach to introducing Trey keeps senior players happy, but he's more than earned a start imo.

Wirtz probably had his worst performance of the season first half (improved a bit second half) and I wanted him subbed but he still did better than Gravenberch in the 10 because at least Flo always works hard and tries. Grav not sprinting back when we're defending a narrow lead bugged me.

Every time I see the penalty the more angry I get at Frimpong. He's not a smart defender, he doesn't think enough about his position, his role, what he's needed to do when. He might be useful as a late sub, if we need an overlapping FB but he can't be starting even without Bradley fit.

Barcola clearly improves us on either side, but if we don't fix the fullback and midfield issues it's no use having 3 £100m+ players - they won't get the ball and we'll still concede a lot.

Hit my 'post limit' on twitter (didn't realise they even added a post limit) so I'm on here to moan about the game. There were some positives (Jacquet/Araujo did well, Munoz 2nd half, Nyoni when coming on) but overall a disappointing performance and result.

Our fullbacks are performing as backup level fullbacks at best. That Liverpool have shown no interest in improving these positions is dissapointing. Brentford have better fullbacks than Liverpool in Diouf and Kayode.

It’s a pity Macca is so slow, because he’s the only midfielder (along with Nyoni) who I actually trust to play like they’re in a pivot. The others just do what they want, when they want, without a care in the world about what’s around them.

It's going to sound silly but I said it last season. I'd send Wirtz to kickboxing classes. He's such a talented player but he fears duels and loses them constantly or just watches and doesn't engage when he should.

Szoboszlai always shoots in the same position. But the only way you can stop it is if you do what that keeper did in world cup, walk over to the right quickly rather than not diving from the middle.

Spot on. But if we don't buy we can't have a Gravenberch & Szoboszlai midfield two - they both vacate constantly and leave no-one in midfield!!! Nyoni or Macca need to start.

Jammy draw. Gravenberch and Szoboszlai does not works as a double pivot. Both fullbacks very poor: Kerkez really slow and doesn't pass forwards. Frimpong has pace but weak in duels - he's neither a RB or RW. Jacquet is a great signing. Munoz a better option on right than Rio at present.

I'm feeling pretty confident for our opener vs Newcastle. Arguably more confident than I ussually am going to Saint James which is a tough away ground. Newcastle losing key players and us having plenty of quality fit players with Iraola's league experience gives me belief.

Ndukwe's loan seems at a perfect club tbh. A challenging league where he'll face strong forwards and attacking play, but a smaller team that needed to refresh CB position so should get games. Read he might even be eligible for a visa exclusion spot in January and there's a recall option if needed.

Hull's new keeper Tzolakis seems a pretty good signing. Very good handling, comes for crosses, doesn't take silly risks in possession but also calm if he does want to pass it out. Not sure about shot stopping ability as only had a couple of average shots to save.

There's something to be said for familiarity. The connections and understanding between players is just there already so a team like Brentford, without much change, have been much better than high spending much fancied Spurs at the start of this game.

Brilliant win by Hull. Approached the game very differently to Coventry (who tried to play out from the back and thru Arsenal unsuccessfully). Hull kept the ball deep until pressed then went long and were great in duels and second balls - then plan simply to get the ball wide and then into the box!

That's one of the reasons Rice isn't world class, though he is very good, England play out really well from the back, Gordon makes a great run, easy pass to put him through and Rice, like he so often does, turns back and passes simply sideways.

Reports that a referee on FIFA’s World Cup list from Africa has been turned back after trying to enter the US for the tournament. Surely, this is basic stuff FIFA should have ironed out well before now. FIFA has been, as usual, contacted for comment.

A right back out for the Dutch and Frimpong still isn't called up. Koeman just doesn't trust his fitness, and doesn't trust his defending (ussually used as a winger for the Dutch).

An observation about this World Cup compared to the previous two. Russia and Qatar made massive efforts for obvious reasons to change public perceptions and really went extra mile with hosting. The United States seems to not care about external reputational harm in same way. And we are seeing that.

Quite excited to discover how Iraola uses Ngumoha. I'm sure many managers would've used Rio more last season, and that might well have been enough to get him on the plane to the World Cup. Slot though loves Gakpo.

I've been saying this the best part of 18 months. Awful for academy players, he showed little interest, didn't attend any academy games, always flew off for holidays during NT breaks which is a great opportunity to develop youngsters, never trusted youth except when forced to.

Arsenal still had a great season so I won't be mocking them. Not tonight anyway. They have a good age group and very strong depth so they'll be there or there abouts next season in the league as they have stability while rivals have had big changes.

I think with Eze's penalty he was waiting/hoping for the keeper to make a move then roll it in opposite corner but when keeper didn't move his body position wasn't right to hit the ball hard so I'm trying to do that he didn't get direction right adjusting.

It is light. I also think Iraola (if he joins) would use our academy and youth players a lot more. He trusts youth players, develops them and makes them better. The season prior Bournmouth had a great season with a 21yr old and 19yr old CB pairing - both got sold for big money to top teams.
