I run weekly playtesting sessions which are almost exclusively attended by designers, so Playfest London is a fantastic opportunity for games to be tested by members of the public. The first day of preorders was pretty good! Suppose sold 58, Welcome Demons 48, plus a few add-ons, which is always nice. Numbers are pointing toward a 250 copy order, but I haven't reached out to retailers yet, so that may change. Also, it's only been one day, so who knows.

AI reminds me of the icecube machine in Back to the Future III. A giant, complicated machine that make something amazing, but tiny. The same result could be created much more simply and efficiently. Or like one of the Wallace & Grommet contraptions. Looks impressive, but does something really basic.

Indeed. We have always anthropomorphised technology, and we have to remember that that’s what it is. A computer mouse isn’t a real mouse. A trashcan on your desktop isn’t a real trashcan. A computer doesn’t actually think. AI is just a type of neural network and a piece of software that manages it.
