Australian English uses analogue for both, but allows analog in technical contexts (like how front end development forces me to spell colour without the u). We also write 'defence' though, so feel free to ignore/mock us, it's fair enough

The paradox of thrift is a counter argument to this. If we still need things like centralised grids to exist, and everyone is minimising their cost individually by opting out, then the overall system collapses. Entirely individualised incentives will not magically solve all our problems

Dude I fucking love compilations of 90s stuff. I live in Melbourne Australia, and a couple of weeks ago I watched a restored video shot in 1994, about our tram system (still the world's largest to this day) and its fleet and issues at the time. Time capsules like that are great!

Optical drive, HDD -> SSD, wifi (now with Bluetooth), motherboard replaced under warranty, monitor panel, RAM upgraded to the max supported 4GB, new keyboard, new palmrest, new trackpad, several batteries, expresscard USB3.0, and from 1.8GHz to 2.3GHz AMD Turion 64 X2. Last ran Arch Linux in 2018

Love the staying power of some laptops. The Dell Inspiron 1501 I used between 2007-2011 now has three original parts remaining - the bottom shell and the two halves of the monitor enclosure. Every single other part has been replaced at least once. I still have it to this day, it earned its keep.
