Going back through my art today and I'm still really proud of this one. It's not perfect, but I was trying a new technique from an art exercise and didn't frame this out first, so I'm just stoked it came out close to the reference

(I got photoshop and felt like doing some art with it. It’s a free hand trace & fill. I free handed the background. Then deleted the layer with the photo in it and merged the remaining layers. @ellafitzg.bsky.social was my first victim. @tallfroguy.bsky.social was a major influence.)

Men, don't do this. Don't go into women's threads or spaces telling them what they need to do by responding with victim blaming nonsense like this. Men need to hold themselves & each other accountable for abuse overwhelmingly perpetuated by men & tacitly supported by the inaction of men. Do better.

I feel like I learn even more now in spite of AI and the enshitfication of the internet & search engines because it forces me to read up on topics to better refine my search terms

Something AI will never be able to replace is the amount I end up learning while searching for art reference images Just this year I've learned about NASA solar panels, anatomy, painted turtles, cows, birds, hares & rabbits, horses, and American football manufacturing

I've been attempting to focus on art and drawing more with a goal of a daily doodle. I was expecting small improvements, but wasn't expecting how quickly the passion would return. I'm doodling in margins again, drawing for longer, and finding so much joy in art, which hasn't happened in ages

I'm sure a lot of this has to do with the back-to-back news cycles of people ignoring consent and facing zero consequences, but I wish a constant stream of unwanted visitors who overstay their welcome to people who see 'no soliciting' signs and knock anyways
