Boarding the Jungle Cruise in Magic Kingdom the other day, and was immediately called out by the skipper for my Dungeon Crawler Carl shirt and "my people have found me".

As much as I still love artist alley, and attendees have been generally lovely... I agree that the negative encounters do seem to have gotten ruder post pandemic.

Davy 🏳️‍🌈 @t-iii.bsky.social · 07/07/2026

In recent years some of the better organisers have improved their staff/volunteer training and added more ways to contact them if they aren't nearby. 99% of attendees are wonderful, so please don't let the horror stories put you off.

Davy 🏳️‍🌈 @t-iii.bsky.social · 07/07/2026

Thanks! Events do have security, how effective they are differs with each organiser/venue though. The main limiting factor is coverage in a large crowded space, and if you're trading solo it's often difficult to leave your table to report incidents.

Davy 🏳️‍🌈 @t-iii.bsky.social · 07/07/2026

Same. I wish I could say that was the last time I received comments like that, but unfortunately: people. The scariest was a guy at comic con years ago who ranted at me for what seemed like 10+ minutes about the "filth" in my comic (a chaste wlw first kiss). So I started using the panel for ads.

Davy 🏳️‍🌈 @t-iii.bsky.social · 07/07/2026

Oh, I've had multiple weird interactions in artist alleys over the years either about my characters either being attendee-in-a-kilt-humped-my-table attractive, or this character not being feminine enough:

010

Davy 🏳️‍🌈 @t-iii.bsky.social · 07/07/2026

Honestly, I'd like to think it was a bit of both. The same reviewer was also shocked that the character introduced as the MC's twin sister wasn't a guy because she had short hair if I remember correctly.

000

Davy 🏳️‍🌈 @t-iii.bsky.social · 05/07/2026

It was a strangely glowing review right up until that line. But seeing as she was at that time fleeing her home after being framed... I think she had more pressing concerns haha.

One of the earliest reviews I received for my first comic was that my sapphic main character would be happier settling down with a man.

Here is the gift of being a comic artist, if you’re lucky every single day you get to make something that didn’t exist before and that harms no one and adds something good to the world. Even if no one wants it.

Animal Kingdom Lodge would definitely be the dream someday haha. Since covid I think they've gotten rid of the airport shuttle, complimentary magic bands, some of the extra hours, etc.

We typically stay off site, but seeing the perks for staying at Disney resorts vanish has made them less desirable even as a "dream holiday upgrade".

I can only speak from going recently (2018/2023), and as much as I love our time there the paid replacement for Fast Passes and the general increase in expenses as well as other changes have put a damper on things.

Even just the regular interface is clunky. Turning pages A+ but if you want to access a menu or change to a different book or navigate libraries - it's slow and tries to turn pages instead.

I got a kindle last year for xmas, and honestly my actual physical book collection has grown in response. Not because kindle has introduced me to new books... but because the kindle interface and "you can't buy books on this platform" make it less user friendly than a gen1 ipad from 2010.

Picked up book 1 of a DnD novel collection today. Thought, hey this is nicely bound, sprayed edges, the collection includes some classic Dragonlance books too and I can maybe pick and choose which ones I like. Spines combine into a mural of 80 books. Touché, Hatchette.

Admittedly I've never been particularly attached to it enough to be bothered by people assuming my gender online. But when I started my first webcomic, I can't say I appreciated the crash course in misogyny and that one person who stalked me so hard they sent threats to my partner.

I thought the take on their relationship in DE was fitting and realistic based on just how much trauma and guilt LIS1 doled out to both of them. Would I have liked to see more of Chloe? Sure, but I also don't think it would've benefited that particular story.

I feel like one of the few Max/Chloe fans who enjoyed Double Exposure. And I'm genuinely looking forward to the tv series. But while it's my preferred game ending, I don't see "bae" working as well in the context of an ongoing tv series. At least for season 1. #LifeIsStrange
