Mushrooms really do have incredible textures, and Luke's picture collection is the best I've come across. I typically generate batches of 30 with random transforms applied to a seed image, and with mushrooms, selecting just a few to post is a challenge.

And a second one from my archives for #KaleidoSaturday. This one uses a vintage Louis Wain cat illustration so works for #Caturday too! May be back later with 1 or 2 more...

Day 8 #JanuArty: Tone. First off, THANK YOU kind friends who have been liking & reposting, I'm amazed by you all! Here's an old one. No title, I guess if pressed I'd call it "a sketchy bit transformed". Somethin' along those lines. #JanuArty2025

Draw one million of something. #genuary2025 #genuary8 #genuary Each pixel in this pattern represents the combined contribution of one million pixels from the source pattern. In theory. Scaling it down so I could post it likely increased that a bit.

Get out of my head! :) I find it comforting that, a quadrillion years from now, the sum total of my existence will amount to little more than an imperceptible alteration in the ever-increasing entropy. It gives me the strength to power on.

The thing I like best about graphics coding is that you can occasionally answer the question "What would it look like if..." #glsl #generative CubeMap credit: @humus512.bsky.social

It's comforting to see that in a world of relentless change, progress, and upheaval, the one true constant, the steadfast guardian of time itself, is that one-way sign.

Great way to expand one's graphics knowledge: Every day grab and read a random graphics paper from realtimerendering.com/random.html. Even if you struggle to get the specifics, read the abstract or skim over it to learn about its existence and get the gist of a graphics technique.
