Just looked up the ADATA SC610 1000GB USB SSD stick that I bought last August for £70. It's fantastic, but to buy another one would cost about double that price now. Grrr @ #AI ...

When taking a picture of a web page I usually use the OS screenshot tool. I hadn't realised (Maybe it didn't do this in the past) that the built-in firefox screenshot functionality uses it's knowledge of the DOM to let you highlight and select blocks from the […] [Original post on fosstodon.org]

Why are data centres such a big deal in Scotland?
At least 23 huge data centres are planned in Scotland, causing significant concern for campaigners.

Frustrating. Sharp "Smart TV" is no longer smart. Built-in obsolescence. Likely no support outside the manufacturer who have given up. Smart TV is a gimmick. The sane option is going back to external devices (Fire sticks are the best end user solution here […] [Original post on fosstodon.org]

@poleguy The ability to transfer a playlist from one service (e.g. Spotify/YouTube/CSV with tasks) into another e.g. Deezer. I think that command you have to download a playlist is actually downloading the audio tracks, not the list of providing a way to put it into the target service

@poleguy That's "just" a downloader isn't it, not a playlist transfer service.

I've seen various music playlist transfer services such as tunemymusic, soundiiz, freeyourmusic, musconv but it doesn't seem that any of them are opensource. Ideally I'd like something simple, self-hosted, or command-line driven so I can run it on anything (like #RISCV). My primary use case is […]
