(And D&D not being super popular will long term hurt discoverability of the hobby, but immediate effect on non-D&D games will likely be positive. I would bet that for a long while (5-10 years) after the buyout non-D&D games would see strict benefit)

I dislike that the question is "when is X better than fleet?" when analysing characters instead of the neutral "which feat is best for me" I need to talk myself out of Fleet and that's why I dislike it

So really just ranged strikers (that are not Fighter as Fighter gets this innately) will value incredible initiative above fleet I don't see that many ranged strikers in my average party

Means they can go three tiles in difficult terrain or find better positioning easier Move speed is less relevant for them but the mage players will know how much that stride can get you in range of something like a Heal or Slow

Assume like 8 fights per level up, this means this feat saves you like 3 actions of tempo over the course of a level I would bet fleet saves you more actions of tempo by being able to get that one tile more For melees they need that speed period Ranged users getting to 30ft...

Say you delay in 1/3rd of the times you win initiative and we are looking at a feat that matters in about 7% of fights again assuming no one scouts It can be basically "time walk" in that 7%, but I think its mostly that good for ranged users / mages

I get that, but there is not a difference between delaying turn 1 and rolling lower on initiative when all is said and done The choice of when to go is incredibly potent, but that feat only gives you a 10% chance to outroll any given mondter in scenario with no scout

Honestly "all classes have untyped +5 move speed at level 3" is sensible

Its a very good A tier, comparable to Toughness, but it aint so good it retroactively makes me evaluate every other feet in response to its existence

Yea, again I am not claiming its bad, but by definition it only has a chance of mattering in a smaller % of fights, I think Fleet matters in far more and is a more consistent pick I also see turn 1 delays fairly often to force enemy approach or let an ally buff

Scout exploration activity can give the whole party a +1 of the same bonus type, so incredible initiative is really only like a +1 (yes II is underrated for most games, but its not in the same caliber as fleet)

For the character, imagine a character that can hover, shoot projectiles that echo, has pretty good melee attacks too I lost to 3 of them in a row on Ranked and wanted to tweet about my hatred for that fox. I just dislike fleet, but thought the wordplay was too good lol
