I still don't quite know what to think about AI, but with manus.im I was able to create the following website and report by literally typing 'can you evaluate the best websites to help teach 8th grade civics.' Crazy in all sorts of ways, see what you think: kjsamord.manus.space

I asked chat gpt to mimic the computer from Wargames. Its response was nothing short of enthusiastic: "Absolutely! I’ll channel my inner WOPR. Just start asking questions, and I’ll respond in character. 😊". Should we be worried?? #sschat #ai #edusky #wopr

It's my favorite because it finally got my mom to listen to a podcast. Though I should probably say it was to hear me and not that she is pro-devil. 👹

Kids might not always be paying attention to what you are teaching, but they do listen to you and watch you. To the good, the bad and the otherwise. #sschat #edusky #iteachhistory

so much of what we do does not get realized until much later. So nice this student let you know.

The other day a student was very excited to give me a cassette tape with the star-spangled banner recorded on it. I was very appreciative but also filled with questions I decided not to ask. Some things better left unanswered. #sschat #edusky #teaching

Gen X has not been able to get a President, so this might be as good as we are going to get. Can't wait for the Jabba-Shuffle

It has failed when I asked it to make fill in the blank review notes based on uploading a reading. It started making up information, while accurate, was not in the reading. As I asked it to do more, it got more away from the origonal text.

When I have tried to get AI to do work for me, it has failed. When I have used it for ideas and feedback, it has been very helpful.

I think if you are trying to be creative, nothing can be the antithesis of creativity.

We all know about the education pendulum. I am starting to see it with tech, my district was early to go 1:1, and the novelty of tech was effective in sparking interest. Now novelty comes from non tech activities. Everything in moderation I suppose. #sschat #edusky.

Still learning about AI, but I do know I have seen plenty of errors in human created, prepackaged programs as well, need to be careful with whatever you use!
