@johnmu.com While the option to opt out of AI Mode and AI Overviews is currently limited to a subset of UK sites, are the new AI Performance reports also restricted to that same subset, or are they not limited to the UK? blog.google/products-and...

TIL Wikipedia moved to shared desktop/mobile website URL pattern, no more m-dot URLs. If you're curious about the behind-the-scenes work (site migrations! everybody's favorite, right?!): www.mediawiki.org/wiki/Request... www.mediawiki.org/wiki/Request... techblog.wikimedia.org/2025/11/21/u...

The higher the urgency, and the stronger the push of new acronyms, the more likely they're just making spam and scamming.

@johnmu.com AI Overviews and AI Mode use (customised) Gemini as their internal LLM. But they are not affected by Google-Extended because they're not Gemini Apps. Is my understanding correct? developers.google.com/search/docs/...

The AI crawler that Gemini uses does render JavaScript (via a rendering service that's shared across Googlebot and Gemini). And that's an advantage over other AI chatbots (for now at least): video of @suzukik.bsky.social and @divingfor.fun #google #seo #ai #gemini

@johnmu.com When Google's LLMs like Gemini use search results for RAG, do those search results also include information from the Knowledge Graph and Shopping Graph?

Your Google Business Profile photos suck! 👎 Big brands can hire a photographer to take photos for their GBP, but smaller brands don’t have that kind of budget - which is why we invited pro photographer @marccharette.com to help you capture your business by yourself. #SEO
