Watching the way in which long read, direct RNA, and methylation data are transforming cancer diagnostics and treatment makes me so happy. This is an inflection point. Respect for the @nanopore #squiggle. I’ll endeavour to ensure a diverse world worth living in for all lives saved #conbio #congen

Incredible work by Eugenie Yen on #turtle sexing by methylation differences. Excited to see if this persists across other temperature dependent species. Badly needed for Podocnemus unifilis in #Peru @nanoporetech.com

The simplicity and elegance of this solution to protein sequencing rather masks how impressively impactful this can be. What would you do with protein sequencing? @nanopore #nanoporeconf

3/ Genomes from wildlife can be T2T just 3 years after the first complete human genome in 2022. An ncredible pace of dvlpmnt and a fully local sequencing solution requiring no sample export. #democratising #genomics. #NanoporeConf🧪

2/ As national #biobanks emerge globally, we are asked often “Why save bio samples? What can you do with them?” - well, I no longer have to say we are saving them for the future. Tomorrow is here today. Nanopore-only #reference #genomes can be T2T AND in situ!🧪

Peptides are being detected directly, folks. PEPTIDES. #LakmalJayasinghe is delivering on his promise. Accurate and sensitive - peptides are grabbed by two DNA handles and run through the pore. #brush up on your #proteomics. This WILL happen. 🧪#nanoporeconf @nanoporetech.com

Beautiful and prickly, these cholla cacti, or teddy bear cacti, actually launch at you unprovoked. This stand blooms where the Mojave transitions into the Colorado desert in #joshuatreenp and is stunning. What’s more, most are thought to be identical clones of parents with the same DNA 🧪🐾

A very small flowcell made to fit a Nanopore sequencer. It looks like this and can produce about 1 gigabase of data. Since its pores are temperature sensitive, it tends not to ever arrive with the full 120 pores it started with - and I usually take them to field labs, so 90 is rare! 🧪

This might be a bit off the mark but what about the black footed ferret and the P-horse? Their reintroductions are a WIP and cloning key. Other than that - California condors, but they managed it with just genetics not genomics :)
