Happy #IndigenousPeoplesDay! Also it is monday so that means Happy #MothMonday / #MacroMonday. I offer this magnificent Orange-spotted Flower Moth, Syngamia florella. A tiny gem. #Nature #Insects #Moths #Awe and #Wonder #ECK
A photo of a yellow and dark orange patterned moth resting on light blue painted wood. Thew moth's slender legs are striped black and white. Its head is black and yellow, it's eyes large and black, bright yellow scales between, that sweep back, spreading around an area of black scales on the thorax. The antennae are slender and tan, rising from between the eyes up towards the camera, somewhat out of focus. The wings are a darkly iridescent orange with large spots of bright yellow throughout and the trailing edge features a delicate fringe. The abdomen is bright orange with stripes of blue iridescence along the 4th and 5th segments.A close up of the abdomen, showing the bright orange scales and rows of blue iridescence in more detail. The wing scales along either side are a shine with a rich golden hue.

HISTORY-DE-SCRIPTION OF THE ROCK-RIVER VILLAGE-MAN-NERS AND CUSTOMS-ENCROACHMENTS BY THE WHITES REMOVAL FROM HIS VILLAGE IN 1831.

This is a new deep-field image from JWST, designed to look for the point of origin of a fast radio burst. The bright, multi-point features are stars in the Milky Way. Everything else is an entire galaxy.
The dark of space, featuring a handful of bright, nearby stars, and altogether too many galaxies beyond.

Seattle just said no. It's the first U.S. city to bar big grocers from using your data and AI to charge you more than your neighbor, while keeping coupons and senior and veteran discounts intact. Congratulations to @mayor.seattle.gov and the City Council on setting the standard.

A black and white photo of a big bare tree on a foggy day. It has irregularly shaped and angled branches and is much larger than the trees around it. It looks like it could be some kind of forest spirit.
