Subjective Detective @supratentorial.bsky.social · 12/10/2026Unsurprising. The folks working there repeatedly gave my partner side eyes and rudeness when he came in masked during the high COVID times. We shop at Beaumont Hardware now. 020

Subjective Detective @supratentorial.bsky.social · 02/10/2026I can still picture all of the various “Calvin pissing on a Ford/Chevy logo” stickers on truck windows, and I left Texas 25+ years ago. 020
Subjective Detective @supratentorial.bsky.social · 25/09/2026Mmmm. Bonus achievement level gets unlocked when you throw that picked over carcass in the insta pot and simmer it for 2 hrs to make some tasty ass stock 010
Subjective Detective @supratentorial.bsky.social · 21/09/2026Yep, they gotta “want it” on some level and put some effort in. It is really disheartening to work with folks like this, it always makes me feel sad and disillusioned. 030
Subjective Detective @supratentorial.bsky.social · 15/09/2026We joked similarly in the hospital about having a similar form for people who refused vaccination against COVID knowing the potential for severe complications back in the delta/omicron eras. Sowing, reaping, etc. 130
Subjective Detective @supratentorial.bsky.social · 15/09/2026Ugh, how awful. What a waste of time having to justify your own clinical expertise to someone like this. Guess I’ll have to teach my nursing students they may encounter *this* particular nightmare situation in clinical practice now. 🤦♀️ 2100
Subjective Detective @supratentorial.bsky.social · 15/09/2026Dining on a charcuterie board of only olives pepperonchini and sweet pickles served to me by a man wearing a copious amount of brofume while sitting in a restaurant full of screeching gentle-parented children 090
Subjective Detective @supratentorial.bsky.social · 09/09/2026Also had this same triple whammy, having had flu/covid together prior w/ only mild fatigue/aches. Turns out shingles vax was the sucker punch, got it solo on the next dose & reaction was similar. All that said, it is STILL completely worth it to avoid the absolute misery of having shingles. 2161
Subjective Detective @supratentorial.bsky.social · 06/09/2026All this digging in my recipes folder is making me realize that I’ve neglected to write up recipes for a lot of my fave go-to soups. Adding that to my fall task list now… 000
Subjective Detective @supratentorial.bsky.social · 06/09/2026Me too! If you omit the sausage to make it veggie, it’s still quite tasty and comes together pretty quickly. 110
Subjective Detective @supratentorial.bsky.social · 06/09/2026It is def soup weather today. Here’s my partner’s mushroom posole recipe: 110
Subjective Detective @supratentorial.bsky.social · 06/08/2026Dr. Z is now in house!!! Congrats on the achievement, it’s a big one! 110
Subjective Detective @supratentorial.bsky.social · 31/07/2026A friend of mine used to say years ago, “Idaho begins at 82nd” (IYKYK) I’d argue nowadays it’s more like 162nd but yeah 160

Subjective Detective @supratentorial.bsky.social · 14/07/2026Yes ma’am you certainly do. Wouldn’t know at all if I met ya in person! Sending a hug if you’re having a tough day. 010
Reposted by Subjective Detectiverahaeli @rahaeli.bsky.social · 14/07/2026Having been to Texas, I agree that Texas has way too much fucking Texas and needs to have slightly less Texas 171
Subjective Detective @supratentorial.bsky.social · 14/07/2026And don’t get me started on the TX power grid shit. I thought the reason Tx became its own electrical entity was due to the Enron thing maybe? When I was paying electric bills in the 90s they weren’t yet doing that variable rate bullshit yet afaik 010
Subjective Detective @supratentorial.bsky.social · 14/07/2026Laughing as I moved from Austin to NYC and quickly encountered that exact same pronunciation conundrum… Yep, it’s deeply problematic in so many ways. I only miss the food for the most part and it’s getting easier to find good Tex Mex and TX style BBQ outside the state nowadays. 010
Subjective Detective @supratentorial.bsky.social · 14/07/2026And I don’t live in Tx anymore either - looks like we escaped successfully! 😘 100
Subjective Detective @supratentorial.bsky.social · 14/07/2026All good, stuff happens. More just setting the record straight for any other rando out there reading who might need to know this random factoid. I guess I’m using my 7th grade Texas history & social studies curriculum indoctrination for something useful? 🤷♀️ 000
Subjective Detective @supratentorial.bsky.social · 14/07/2026And as I think more on it, Texas just has too much damn Texas. Couldn’t hurt to split that land up a bit maybe 130
Subjective Detective @supratentorial.bsky.social · 14/07/2026Sorry to be a Bluesky pedant, but most of Houston is in Harris County, it’s Austin that’s in Travis County (lived in both at various times). But agree as to your broader point in that the whole thing makes no sense to not have area place names more consistent. TX has too many damn counties anyhow! 360
Subjective Detective @supratentorial.bsky.social · 13/07/2026I’m fine with that but have to consider that some statewide office holders may not want to give up their current position for a short term fill-in. Some may see it as an advantage to running as an incumbent but others not so much. 130
Subjective Detective @supratentorial.bsky.social · 13/07/2026Agreed. Should be chosen from a pool of former federal or state level congressional office holders with applicable experience as a general rule. 150

Subjective Detective @supratentorial.bsky.social · 28/06/2026Heard same stories in medicine: placating the surgeon who always nitpicks by misplacing 1 instrument on the surgical table just for him (let’s be real, it’s nearly always a him) to tweak and therefore feel that his ego has been aggrandized, so we can now proceed on time without a tantrum delay 020
Subjective Detective @supratentorial.bsky.social · 28/06/2026Plus he’d be helping realize my ultimate dream of AOC becoming potus 010
Subjective Detective @supratentorial.bsky.social · 28/06/2026True, but I’m hoping his role is being the charismatic guy who models how much better it can be. Less friction than a presidential candidate would have, so more effective in terms of showing results and moving public sentiment leftward. 101
Subjective Detective @supratentorial.bsky.social · 27/06/2026All thirst joking aside, if we do have to look at this person daily for 4 years, it doesn’t hurt if it’s easier on the eyes. Our beleaguered eyes could use the break from the current 🍊 0240
Subjective Detective @supratentorial.bsky.social · 27/06/2026Death by hatching is no laughing matter, for sure.media.tenor.coma black and white drawing of a gravestone with a skull on topAlt: Gif is a short clip from the opening credits of PBS’s long running Mystery! show, drawn by Edward Gorey in the iconic black and white drawing style he was so memorably known for.
