All Lithuanian-born young Slavs speak Lithuanian, btw. He's an immigrant, holding an anti-immigrant poster at an anti-immigration protest. But he's white, you see, he doesn't count.

A perfect illustration of this - just saw a clip on instagram of a journalist talking to one of the racists. She's asking him questions in Lithuanian, he's telling her in Russian that he only speaks Russian. He's young looking, a late teen perhaps.

Textile art in the hospital MRI waiting room!

Looks like a painting of a small, white lighthouse on abstract kind of rocks, but it's actually made with fabric scraps sewn together. A few lines of stitches make ripples in the taupe silk water.

A red lighthouse with metal struts on a cliff overlooking a purple blue sea and distant clouds and islands - all fabric of different textures. A flock of birds flying past the lighthouse is made up of tiny stitches in an < shape. The artist's signature is GC.

I don't know if I qualify because I don't actively practice nudism outside nudist beaches, but I had a conversation with my dad about how the public indecency fine is the only thing that's stopping us from being nude in public xD

They could've chosen Germany or France - two countries with much better salaries, stronger economies and bigger immigrant diasporas. Yet they chose a country most non-Europeans wouldn't be able to place on the map. I can't believe most of my compatriates don't feel a sense of pride in it.

Lumi .𖥔 ݁ ˖ @superluminous.bsky.social · 04/10/2026

I don't think I need to tell you how absurd anti immigration is as a political stance. On top of that, Lithuania has a rapidly aging and shrinking population. We desperately need immigrants! I sm honored that people from abroad chose my country as their new home.

Also, I'm not letting my community - Slavs living in Lithuania - off the hook, either. Despite being targets of xenophobia for over three decades, a lot of them are xenophobic themselves. My community is just as guilty of this.

Lumi .𖥔 ݁ ˖ @superluminous.bsky.social · 04/10/2026

There's also a ton of influence from the racists and xenophobes of Western Europe. While it's the US American talking points that got adopted, it was Western European racist propaganda that made white Lithuanians want to adopt it.

100

Lumi .𖥔 ݁ ˖ @superluminous.bsky.social · 04/10/2026

The YS American racist talking point have also crossed over to our country by now. The xenophobes of the old used to emphasize Lithuanianess as their value, excluding people like me, a Lithuanian Slav. Now whiteness is the value and suddenly people like me are fine because we're white.

Immigrants are not our enemy. It's literally the politicians like that organiser who are! Not only is he a fascist, he's also a Putin supporter. He's an enemy to our people in every conceivable way, yet he's appealing to white Lithuanians' pre-existing racism and xenophobia.

100

Lumi .𖥔 ݁ ˖ @superluminous.bsky.social · 04/10/2026

We had a fascist politician organize a protest against immigrants in Lithuania and I'm very happy that we had a counter protest against that! It still saddens me how many young people were there holding those racist and xenophobic banners.

it goes up on mondays and wednesdays and it dips consistently every saturday and sunday
