It all feels like straight up racism to me. I wouldn’t even give them credit for creative dishonesty.

I suppose it’s worth a try, but idk how you find common ground with people whose fundamental belief system is that anyone with expertise and credentials is a liar

Why do people (OP, not you) screenshot articles without providing a link or even saying where it’s from? Are we supposed to recognize the font or something?

counterpoint, sort of: the pretest probability of a new NBA owner being an awful Trumper is pretty high

Winning is priority #1, and we need to stay healthy, so we're running back the old and injury-prone roster that won 37 games last year.

Between this and the gutting of AHRQ, it has not been a good week for those of us who once hoped that data could be used to improve health and our health care system.

Rest in peace, “evidence-based medicine”, dead at the age of 35 from a terminal case of hypocrisy exacerbated by an acute attack of mindless contrarianism.

absolutely not. whatever the flaws of the US system, basing college entrance on a single exam is far worse. among other things, it would be much harder for students with disabilities to attend college.

The point may not be that OE or UTD AI are "worse" but that different models are better for different use cases - which goes along with my clinical experience. IMHO general models are better for diagnostic questions (which tend to be broader), OE is better for management ?s (generally more specific)

Sumant Ranji @sumantranji.bsky.social · 12/06/2026
But doctors use OE for quick answers to diagnosis and management questions, not deep dives or communication. So the findings may in part result from testing irrelevant use cases. Also, doctors are aware of the limitations of OE and LLMs in general - see our preprint: www.medrxiv.org/content/10.6...

Very interesting paper. Will have to digest it more but on a brief look, the differences seem to be driven by OpenEvidence and UpToDate AI falling short in the subdomains of communication, response depth, and completeness, with only minor differences in medical knowledge-->

I'm quoted in today's @sfchronicle.com on the important @science.org study published today by @adamrodmanmd.bsky.social and colleagues. tl;dr - diagnostic AI is strikingly accurate, but (contra the Silicon Valley mentality) it isn't going to replace doctors anytime soon, or probably ever
sfchronicle.com
AI outperformed doctors on diagnosing tough cases — but is it ready for real patients?
An AI program put to the most rigorous tests in modern medicine aced its exams, and in fact performed better than human doctors on reasoning tasks such as making emergency room decisions.

what's amusing about this is that Shawn Marion himself famously felt unappreciated - something that Kerr knows, since he was the Suns GM when Marion demanded a trade!

His transformation into this generation’s Dennis Rodman is nearly complete - still a great defender (when motivated), brings nothing on offense, play overshadowed by antics off and on court

unfortunately part of the issue seems to be that young people don’t drink. which is good for lots of reasons, but has the unintended consequence of kneecapping already struggling venues. no idea what to do about that either

how concerned is the coaching staff and front office right now? do they still think this is a playoff roster or do they see the need for major changes?
