If you see this, post some cat art! Not sure if the chimera counts, but like 1/3 of him is a lion & that is a type of big cat.. so I think it gets by through technicality

I didn’t have the energy to do much for the background when I first made this, so I decided to simply make something abstracted & blurred to get by with.

Posted this as part of a QRP trend & decided to also show the process shots as a main post. Crazy that 2024 is almost over! I am happy with the growth I've had as an artist & even if I sometimes cringe at my older work, I know those pieces were necessary for me to have made in order to grow.

1.) rough sketch, just generally getting the gist of the figure & expression. 2.) Laying down color & working in the background. 3.) The start of the refinement process 4.) The furthering of the refinement process started in 3. On a separate layer I begin working on the smoke detail. 5.) I begin to make anatomical adjustments that I overlooked prior - basically I finally flipped my canvas. 6.) I make further adjustments to the anatomy/perspective, such as moving the shoulder. I also continue working on the rendering & lighting.

This is the finished illustration. It is of Sailor Moon & it is a redraw of 2 previous redraws I have done - which the 1st one was done because of the Sailor Moon redraw challenge in 2020.

Since I did this before with another illustration, I thought I do it again for this Pokémon fan-art! So here is a side-by-side of the in-progress screenshots & what ended up being the final piece. It definitely was an emotional rollercoaster getting it how I liked it. #art #Pokémon #fanart

I'm someone who tries to screenshot their work at multiple times of progress ~ Soo here are the early phases of this illustration next to what the finished piece looked like. The one thing I feel I need to work on is how sloppy my process probably looks 😅 Should I show more process shots? #art

Depicted here are the screenshots taken at different intervals of progress. 1.) is the sketch with color painted under, 2.) is me beginning to establish the render, 3.) I begin to color in details and photo bash a background 4.) Is further refinement 5.) I felt she was lonely so sketch in a bee friend & 6.) I refine the background by overpainting and develop the little bee guy by adding color.

Traditional illustration made with colored pencils & pen. It’s a rainbow pug with a horn and a full head of hair (A uni-pug if you will).

Pattern made up of over 70+ cats of differing professions. There is a cactus cat, angel cat, robo cat, etc. - this was a college project.

A surreal portrait of an alien wearing a dress of Roses. Rainbow paint pours onto the figure and also comes out of their severed neck. Rainbow butterflies can be seen landing on the figures face and the paint.
When first working on this I initially made their skin green, but they looked a little like Shrek. I am glad I went with the pink tinted skin instead.

Yeah, that’s for sure! I also volunteer at the animal shelter near my work and tend to work with the cats and I have met a lot of goofy cats - tho the black cats and orange cats def had the biggest personalities More Samhain pics:

For the 1st 5 gens I always chose the water starter (piplup & oshawott have my heart always) but the more recent fire starters have really appealed to me. Fuecoco is just a li’l goofball #pokemon

Darkwater by Catherine Fisher. I first ran into into in my middle school library and I enjoyed second of it - never stopped thinking about that book. I actually went out of my way to purchase my own copy about a year or 2 ago for nostalgia’s sake.

Platinum is peak! I first played pearl and eventually was gifted platinum when I was like 8 (pictured below is my DS cartridge) Out of that generation Soul Silver is my favorite tho - my mom threw out a bag that held some of my pokemon games years back and it was one of the casualties 💀
