no way...I have another opportunity for pitching Bluebell... :3

Suli🌺 - Storyboard Artist Available for Work! @suli.bsky.social · 25/09/2026

ugh yeah I hate this. and it sucks that I am hitting enough financial straits that I even do have to consider having no respect for myself and taking whatever anyone can offer 😔

there’s definitely an audacity to offering so little money AND so little time for a whole episode with only one artist with no negotiation on the table. but also its better than sitting around all day and I do want to buy things with money 🙃

not the one serious offer I get asking me to board a ten minute episode on model in 3 weeks with two revisions passed included in that time constraint, all for about 12 an hour

It’s been over a year and a half since I’ve had any work in the industry, or at all really. I keep getting rejected from min wage for no relevant experience. and it really sucks that the next entry of my favorite game series is coming out and I simply can’t afford it if I want to eat ahaha

I haven’t heard as much talk about the US animation job market lately, but rest assured! It’s still terrible!

A few memes I made while we were working on the Spongebob x One Piece animation

Squidward/Sanji says "Thanks. I was just about to ask... for a new reed."

Plankton/Usopp says "Goodbye everyone. I'll remember you all in therapy." as the Going Merry burns in the background.

Spongebob/Luffy puts his hat on a crying Sandy/Nami

The highlight of the show, to me, is the potion craft segments: rather than magic chants or spells, it'd be a practical, tactile process shot like a cooking tutorial that anyone can follow. magic in this world is a process. we have to see and prepare every ingredient as Bluebell puts it together.

Gabitha is the helper around the shop, who acts like a big sister to Bluebell when she needs a more mature ear to listen to her. She's composed and friendly, and capable of endless feats of endurance, but has a tendency to obsessively help everyone around her at the cost of her own health.

A splash pose of Gabitha, who tends the crops in the shop's fields, handles laundry, does the taxes, customer service at the front...all with a smile.

PBB is about the struggle of kids who grow up too fast and don't really get to just have a childhood. It's about separating self image from the neurodivergent 'gifted child' experience. It's also about found family, love between siblings, mother, and daughter, and the pursuit of dreams and passions.

reposting to keep spreading around my cozy fantasy protagonist, an autistic potion seller determined to both prove her mettle despite her young age and share her love of magic and whimsy to a whimsy-less village 💜

Sharing some more boards from the 'Potions by Bluebell' pitch animatic, this time boarded by Kaden Westbrook (@kadejwestbrook on insta!) who did an amazing job with the comedy and really helped get this big chunk done! This was also my first time directing :O #storyboards #indieanimation #showpitch

literally yeah from talking to nick development they're saying there's just not even a space for it anymore and it's extremely competitive/selective. nobody wants to even try making 6-11 rn and its frustrating :/

found some more fun drawings of the potion shop family that I love, drawn by @sealchomps.bsky.social !! my babies...

A collection of doodles of Bluebell and her family. On the top left, Bluebell, Gabitha, Tabby, Crow, and Toad cuddle for a movie under blankets. On top right, Toad eats sand and shells out of a bucket as Crow looks at him, grossed out. On bottom left, Bluebell is preparing some ingredients in a pot as Gabitha finishes cutting carrots for her. On bottom right, a happy Bluebell squeezes Tabby with cuteness aggression til his eyes get huge and bulgy.

maybe not every kid or animation fan watching would have the same experience as me, but I love being able to have a show with creative recipes where kids and their parents can just get up and make whatever it was that was the potion of the week! we could make something new and fun each time!

I had to grow up and learn to take care of myself early, and what really started this whole concept was how I used to just mix foods and different ice creams together and call them potions. Nowadays I make my own pickles, salsas, cocktails, etc with a fun twist, because I haven't changed at all lmao

Bluebell as a project is so special to me. I really want to tell a story for kids audiences about having a famous mom who just didn't get to be home, but there's still a loving mother-daughter bond. my mom was always gone for concerts/tours. I didn't get to be her daughter before she passed.
