But Bluebell is determined. If she and her three familiars can help the people of Lilywart with their problems, then she can be grown up enough to be a potion master when her mom's back. Totally not a coping mechanism! She's fine without her mom, obviously. After all, potions are what she's good at.

Bluebell tries to sell a potion to a traveler in front of the inn as her familiars use all their strength to prop up a wagon she stands on.

PBB is about the struggle of kids who grow up too fast and don't really get to just have a childhood. It's about separating self image from the neurodivergent 'gifted child' experience. It's also about found family, love between siblings, mother, and daughter, and the pursuit of dreams and passions.

Bluebell's three familiars, who she grew up with like siblings, help her with potioncraft and big scary decision making! Tabby is wise, loyal and brave, but always sleepy. Toad is fun, empathetic, and loves play - especially roleplay! Crow is smart and bookish, but skittish and full of nerves.
