NYT: The Palestinian Health Ministry in Gaza said that airstrikes had killed at least 40 Palestinians who were attempting to flee northern Gaza by car on a main highway. Ashraf al-Qidra, a ministry spokesman, said in a WhatsApp message that the strikes had hit Salahuddin Road, Gaza’s main highway and one of the few routes to an area that Israel had said was safe. The Israeli military could not immediately be reached for comment.
