Omigod, this is the most heartwarming story possible! Backpack (bear 89) is the son of the 2019 winner of Fat Bear Week, Holly (bear 435). In 2007, he injured his foot & a practice of riding on momma's Holly's back had a new meaning: he was mobility-restricted while it healed. So Holly moved him.

From DISCVR blog's Facebook page, a momma bear & a yearling cub on her back in the shallow water. I think the background has been swapped out, and I can't rule out some AI use there? God, Facebook has become the social media for AI slop : (

The title of the article, which I link below, is "How Bear 89 earned the name Backpack"

⚔️🔥CAPTURE QUEST: CHARIZARD🔥⚔️ I have wanted to paint this for over a decade and spent the last year of my life fighting to bring it to the finish line. Please take a look, there is a lot to see

Gargantuan illustration of a charizard redesigned in the style of a monster hunter elder dragon. There are 4 hunters attacking him and their pikapalico is readying a voltorb bomb to throw. There is so much stuff in there, I spent a damn year on this. I'm exhausted.

Tim Curry and Dolly Parton have taught us not only that you should be bigger, weirder, gayer, and freakier, but also that those qualities are what people will love about you. The things that make you strange and amazing are the things that will resonate with other strange and amazing people

"It's given a lot of people permission to be themselves, to not dream it, be it, which is the motto of the movie, really. I would like to be remembered for that." Farewell to Tim Curry (1946-2026) #RIP

Some people might not be aware, but it is entirely possible that without Dolly Parton we wouldn’t have had a COVID vaccine. She partly funded Moderna’s research and gave the largest individual contribution to make it all happen. Just gives you an idea of the kind of person she was.

Finnish nature photographer Lassi Rautiainen followed a female grey wolf (Canis lupus) & a male brown bear (Ursos arctos) for 10 days. They played together, shared meals, napped together. Both were young adults. They appeared to be... friends? (📷: Lassi Rautiainen, www.wildfinland.org)

A brown bear and a grey wolf on a green grassy plain, both looking in the same direction, with strange wispy trees out of focus and concealed in fog in the distance. The suggestion is of a land of magic where bears and wolves are friends.

We have literally just gone on image flip and made like 7 of these because we A) need money B) want you to have 1200 fonts for commercial use for just $19 ci.itch.io/all-fonts-pack

The car veering off the highway meme. The left road is AI GENERATED TEXT, the right road is 1200 COOL-ASS FONTS, the car is veering right and has the caption: YOU, I HOPE.

Why was Flaco Lopez the *only* Argentina player not to disrespectfully turn his back on Spain’s World Cup celebration? Because he plays for Palmeiras, which actively teaches its players not to be petulant man-children.
