I’ve entered some kind of major writing dormancy period 🥲 But this weekend we went foraging & found 7lbs+ (!) of chanterelles and shrimp and lobster mushrooms. Auspicious 🍁
A Shiba Inu sitting beside a large mesh bag filled with freshly picked white chanterelles.A Shiba Inu sitting beside a baking tray loaded with yellow chanterelles, lobster mushrooms, and a few shrimp mushrooms.A handsome yellow collie-mix dog sitting beside a baking tray loaded with mushrooms. This photo made us laugh because he looks regal but I think he’s actually just tired.A Shiba Inu face flanked by large, very gnarly lobster mushrooms. We took these home but when cleaning them I found something wiggling in one so uh. I think I’m just gonna throw them away.

As we gather to consider the nation’s finest and most courageous journalism, the Pulitzer Prize Board would like to recognize the tireless efforts of student journalists across our nation’s college campuses, who are covering protests and unrest in the face of great personal and academic risk. We would also like to acknowledge the extraordinary real-time reporting of student journalists at Columbia University, where the Pulitzer Prizes are housed, as the New York Police Department was called onto campus on Tuesday night. In the spirit of press freedom, these students worked to document a major national news event under difficult and dangerous circumstances and at risk of arrest.
