Well this is infuriating yet totally unsurprising.

Got a job interview tomorrow that I absolutely have to nail. So I’m doing a test run right now to make sure I can get exactly where I need to be on time with some wiggle room. Adulting hard!

Aw shit, what I would do with a spider army! And I haven’t even built my own personal crow air force yet.

Maybe we should hold off until we can have some power over who replaces him? He’s horrible but not even the most horrible on that bench of truly horrible men.

And to my delight, the frakkin toasters moved me forward and I interview in person on site on Tuesday! Fingers crossed. I need this badly!

Fun gig last night, and also a rare shot with all 4 of us clearly visible!

Tonight is going to be a big gig for the cover band! We’re playing every song we know at the Bistro in Hayward, with pro sound by the bassist from our original band who makes everyone sound good, and some of my fun new lights! It’s gonna be a real good time so come on out! #musiciansky #eastbay

Thank you! And weird, it's a tall and narrow box with very tiny writing on my end!

That was a really productive session. Finally really got to process some stuff. Always good when I come out of it in better shape than I was going in.

It’s Bruce Springsteen’s birthday today and my Facebook feed is full of posts that are full of asshole comments from members of the Trump cult. Can we talk about our personal favorite from the Boss?

So I got to sit front row tonight for the Stickmen! Tony Levin, Pat Mastelotto, and Markus Reuter dropped some heavy mathy Crimsonian prog right to our faces. Being in the front made whipping out the phone a bit awkward but I got a few shots and this short vid

And then he comments on your Steely Dan Tshirt and tells you how he had to explain Purdie and his famous shuffle to somebody!

And there’s something unforgettable sitting that close while on a nice museum dose of mushrooms and you’re looking at Pat Mastelotto and suddenly you realize he’s looking right back at you and can absolutely tell how high you are and then when you meet him after he asks if you’re doing ok…

It was only for a short time because I could imagine it was not easy to get it right! Not nearly as ubiquitous as say commercials for Carvel or Crazy Eddie.

Do you remember that game where you could call in and it was like Space Invaders and you had to say “PIX” to fire? I could never get through on the phone!

Off on a small roadtrip to see the Stick Men play at a museum in Stockton! This will be my fourth time seeing Tony Levin, the third time with Pat Mastelotto, and definitely in the most intimate setting!

Yours truly wearing a bowler hat with a Sheriff badge on it that also reads “Tun-er” and a white shirt that looks like the cover of Sonic Youth’s Goo album but it says Steely Dan LP and the picture is Walter Becker and Donald Fagen

I cannot believe that the Emma Ruth Rundle account following tens of people and with a handful of follow backs who slid into my DMs, called me “suburban” and thanked me for being a fan, got removed before I could ask for a collab! Nothing shady at all going on there.

It’s gig day. Out the door 15 minutes late and my kid has to get a separate ride because he couldn’t get it together in a reasonable amount of time. It will be nice for my family to hear me play but this is why I typically fly solo to gigs.

Oh hiiiii! I have a solo recording project that has dabbled in metal as well as a ton of other genres, and is always leftist AF! Just take a peek and a listen and then please add me to this list. Thanks!

Suburban Death March

A solo recording project born in the plague years by a suburban dad in the East Bay. Sometimes heavy and doomy, often proggy, occasionally soundtrack-y or mellow, but always weird.
