The internet used to be a friendly place where you could trust people, unlike the big bad companies. Unfortunately it has changed so the old-school careful thinking is again needed.

It basically says that if you treat developers like humans they feel much better and therefore become more productive. This should be obvious and demand no scientific proof, but it is like it is, isn't it? :/

Reading The psychology of software teams by @grimalkina.bsky.social I constantly have to stop and contemplate my experience over the past 40 years and why the life of a software engineer is still so overlooked. "How do we convince our bosses to do more of these things that actually help us?"

Some people claim all is new blah blah. Nothing's new. On system design: * Only change the system if any part as well as the system as a whole is improved. * Redesign must aim at what is wanted, not at what is not wanted. * Creativity is more important than continuous improvement. * Wisdom!

Good measurements don't mean they sound good. If you think this has anything on high end you haven't understood what hifi is all about. You need to sharpen your ears, learn to really listen, and then you can reach an even better place. Besides, settling for MOSFET amps now that GaNFETs are breaking?

SuberCoder @subercoder.bsky.social · 12/11/2025
Does anybody know of any amp designs playing PDM through class D GaN FET to loudspeaker? I have just found PWM variants, like Peachtree GaN-1 or Orchad Audio's Starkrimson. Why destroy the signal through PCM? #hifi #highendaudio #electronics #GaN #amplifiers
000
SuberCoder @subercoder.bsky.social · 12/11/2025
You have no (ignored) rounding errors like in PCM. And no analogue edges you'll miss, like in PWM. And the best studios today work in PDM so there is no need to destroy the "original" perfection!
000
SuberCoder @subercoder.bsky.social · 12/11/2025
PDM - the most perfect of signals A Pulse Density Modulated signal is a digital signal. But take off your glasses and it's analogue! The density of the 1's is kind of analogue and can therefore be played through a LP filter. I'd claim this is the reason it outperforms PCM, PWM or any other signal.

No feedback. GaN. Love it. Now make the preamplifier part a separate box, feed two monoblocks over HDMI cables. This way the power supplies get separates, all the noicy Bluetooth and USB stuff get separated from the ampflification stages.
010
SuberCoder @subercoder.bsky.social · 09/11/2025
Of course somebody has came up with "my" concept already but I'd like to take it to the next level, having monoblocks feeding the loudspeakers over shorter cables. The shorter the cable, the more you can put on quality.
010
SuberCoder @subercoder.bsky.social · 09/11/2025
PDM straight out using GaN is coming! Peachtree's GaN-1 and Carina GaN take whatever digital input, makes PDM and feeds the GaN amplification stage. Brilliant concept and therefore brilliant sound.
