At a panel about Star Trek is it FILLED with balding age men and it’s so endearing. My dad loved this show. I love it because of him. I think he’d like this panel.

Also I think I’m gonna go back to Rythos for my furry account on most things! I do love my newer sonas and all that but, I just think I liked that name better for my furry ID. Skeetzybug was what my grandpa called me. I think it’s okay for me to just keep that.

I really just wanna be able to search through some fun Pokemon art for desktop backgrounds, maybe find some cute adopts? I’m just not sure where to go for that anymore. I feel OLD lmao!

So what IS the primary art sharing website for sfw furry artist nowadays? Is it Insta? Here? DeviantArt feels bad with all the AI, but trying to search through FurAffinity for sfw is like, impossible anymore. I used to use SheezyArt and it DOES seem to be making a comeback? I have no idea.

FRIENDS IN THE NYC AREA: Okay, this is a tough one, but please bear with me. My wife's lifelong friend has stage 4 pancreatic cancer and is desperately seeking a home for his two cats when that time comes. The elder, Wally, is something like 13 years old and DELIGHTFULLY dim. The younger, Doris,

A really lovely sentiment from a friend, about loving dogs that aren't yours. Wanted to share. "loving a dog who won't be with you long term is a great act. Accepting that dog and letting her give you the lessons she has to share is the reward."

Reaching out - does anyone know what happened to sparkynekomi / Flying Cat Fine Art / Ashley McAlpine?? They were lovely and a favorite artist of mine, I recently found some of my originals from them and went looking. It’s like they just,,, vanished? No posts about stepping away, etc. I’m curious?

It’s okay if you don’t!! My brother has been in the furry community for quite some time now and he’s never had a sona. Enjoy what parts of the community you want to.

sike it's time for FANCY dogs

A digital image of the Pokemon Typhlosion. It has burnt orange striping and mottling from its transition from tan to navy fur. A large metal pauldron and back plate across its shoulders has slits to let its explosive fire through. It has chains connecting this to bracers on each of its arms.

A digital illustration of the Pokemon Luxray, in shiny form. Instead of its signature spiky mane and tufts it has tight ringletted fur that is lit from the roots with an inner glow. Around its neck it has a deep blue scarf with white jagged teeth along the top edge, and runners that trail along its back to hang off its haunches.

Anyone know a good budgeting app?? I used Mint WAYYY back in the day, I tried out Rocket but it is WAYYY too slow on syncing with my transactions, multiple days sometimes before things show up.

I just wanted to come back and say I hope this didn’t come across as combative!! I just really like digging into the legality and specifics of things. 🫡 Thank u for also citing your own sources. I agree the rules be silly, especially for hosting a fur con.

120

Rythos @studiorythos.bsky.social · 15/01/2026

Like the tiniest thing can have an impact on the legality of something?? Wild. I’m down a rabbit hole right now about “innkeeper laws” and how it does and doesn’t relate to housing and it is SO interesting.

000

Rythos @studiorythos.bsky.social · 15/01/2026

Thanks Mom for teaching me how to read laws. 🫡 I learned a lot today!! I do not want to do law for a living but it is fascinating to dig in to on a fundamental level.

Rythos @studiorythos.bsky.social · 15/01/2026

Do I think that they have to make these rules is stupid?? Yeah. It should be common sense not to have alcohol around underage people that aren’t under your supervision. Are they completely allowed to? Also yeah. A really ridiculous unfortunate part of the tango they have to play.

Yep. As stated, notice how “Sex, race, color, religion, ancestry, national origin, disability, medical condition, genetic information, marital status, sexual orientation, citizenship, primary language, or immigration status” does not include guardianship status of minors.

Rythos @studiorythos.bsky.social · 15/01/2026

Well it depends, if it’s classed as a long-stay or extended stay hotel then yes it falls under the FHA, however a standard hotel or motel does not. As far as my experiences they’ve always been at standard hotels, I’ve never done an extended stay hotel like a HomeSuites.

100

Rythos @studiorythos.bsky.social · 15/01/2026

Yyyyyes but that’s not what this is. Hotels fall under private property and may have certain “house rules” that guests are expected to follow. States may differ based on their individual Innkeeper’s Acts, which in CA’s case is Civil Codes 1859-67, as far as I know.

140

Rythos @studiorythos.bsky.social · 15/01/2026

It’s not against parents having alcohol, it’s adults with minors present who are NOT their parents/guardians, which is a clause I’ve seen before. Mine was Marriot Atlanta I believe? Could have been in SLC as well.

140

Rythos @studiorythos.bsky.social · 14/01/2026

Seems pretty standard for nicer hotels hosting conventions! I’ve seen a few different versions of it over the last couple decades attending, they’re definitely cracking down on some things more but nothing unusual.

140

Rythos @studiorythos.bsky.social · 12/01/2026

Yeah I talk about this in my SD panels I run at events! If it’s causing problems and you are A. a handler, B. a worker, then you deal with it. Otherwise, it’s best to leave things alone - especially in a state like mine where SD in training also have public access rights, you never know what’s up!

Trying to plan my trip to the San Diego Safari Park in a few weeks - their website lists they have Dholes but I can’t find them anywhere on any of the maps, and all info about them seems to be from 2014-15 when they moved in. Can someone tell me where they are??

Yooooo I LOVE the style for the new #MightyNein show, I know it’s similar to VM but something about the execution is just SO nice. I love the way Nott’s ears move and her expressions are so vibrant?? And Jester’s tail+hand movement is CRAZY great characterization, rarely is any part of her still!

Anyone use a small pet GPS tracker at all?? My black cat is getting slippery and keeps getting into the yard which is FINE but there’s been a few times she’s slipped at night and we didn’t see. She can hop the fence if she wants and we’re really close to a main road. I wanna know which to get.

To be fair many companies have this “rule” - Petco’s had it for all 14 years I’ve been here. It’s rarely enforced, tho. It’s generally pretty easy to tell when someone needs help!
