Closing out with Resplendent! One of the most ostentatious show-deathclaws in the running, this gilded beauty was eventually banned from competing when it let out a cry so loud it ruptured the judges' eardrums. Its owner, a ghoul, claimed the radiation emitting from its spread frill was harmless.

Slither! While the deathclaw is originally genetically engineered, occasionally one of its constituent species will become dominant during development. Powerful coils and powerful venom make this specimen a frightening - and incredibly fast - adversary.

Lepidoptera! Just. a bunch of moths A scale mutation resulting in wafer-thin winglike structures over its upper body, this deathclaw moves with the sound of gently rustling leaves. Its preference for blood often puts it in competition with some of the larger wasteland insects.

Gargoyle, with color! Deathclaws that roam cityscapes are still vulnerable to the twisted, rusted metal beams that support their hunting grounds. A slip or stumble can be fatal, and victims of the resulting tetanus will eventually become fully paralyzed, a figurehead in death.

Badlands is here! Constant sand and wind often results in higher scale growth, at the cost of keratin and other materials for maintaining integrity. While arid-region deathclaws often have shattered horns or spikes, sometimes this aids in blending them in with their rocky surroundings perfectly.

Jackolantern! It can inflate the bright-colored sac on its neck enormously to scare off rivals. Its skin and scales are softer than usual to account for this, but the action often results in tearing. Interestingly, its tail grows vestigial loops instead of healing properly from damage.

It's small, it's awful - Teacup! On the opposite end of showclaws are the 'designer' breeds. Short-lived, stunted, often brachycephalic, and packed with physical and neurological issues, toy deathclaws are often seen in upper echelons of wasteland society. For some reason.

You know what time it is. Starting off with Stygian! An excess of calcium leads to growths on the neck. Migrant scales give it the unsettling visual of skulls, giving rise to an urban myth that this deathclaw shepherds the souls of those it devours to the afterlife.
