i am not without my criticisms of some of the systems in this game but the writing and characters in the part 1 sections have hit on both the routes i played, i am pretty impressed with how they've been handling character development especially for the plot-relevant cast

biting my fist bc i really think the back parts of dietrich's p1 route might sincerely have my favorite writing in the entire series. the last couple of chapters, but very especially after the ch 12 map were just phenomenal, and the map was fun as well onto leda next!

though i wouldn't say he's my favorite (both in the game and overall) just because of character types i prefer, i feel like fabio is undoubtedly one of the best-written characters to ever come out of fire emblem. his development just through part 1 alone is absolutely stunning and SO satisfying

One of the things to come from GamerGate was the gamification of torturing real, live women...hounding them out of their homes, making them look over their shoulders for years. yeah, i definitely like ANY time a random encounter game gives me a set of visual cues for how close i am to the next encounter. it's far from the only game with it, but it really goes a long way with understanding an area's given encounter rate tangibly
