For a long time I thought maybe it was just that I was easy to forget about. But I have friends flying in from both sides of the country. Family driving 18 hours. People who I've known for less than 2 years stepping up to replace people I've known for over a decade who dropped out.

A rapist doesn't have to have permanently destroyed someone's life for rape to be an unforgivable and heinous crime. So why are we acting like it does? You're just making survivors who moved on or recovered quickly feel like their trauma was "bad enough" to justify pressing charges or speaking out.

Exactly. If you worked your ass off to drop $250 on something and then recieved radio silence for months, you'd think you got scammed. I'm disabled too, I get it's hard. I still have to work a job irl & its grueling. But 250 is no small sum to just disappear with for months with no communication.
