After a month away in my home country, I'm back and easing into my routine like a warm bath. That means one stream instead of my usual three this week, but hey, today I made this snazzy poster for my stream schedule! Baby steps. So if you enjoy Valheim like I do, come hang as I punch greylings.
A poster to advertise Stranded's weekly stream schedule. It reads:

"For a good timezone, call The Stranded Stream on Twitch.tv

This week's schedule: Thursday, Sept 17th, 4:30pm, Valheim 1.0 (all times in JST)

A while back I shared the debut of my original character, Zor, the lovable beast who lives for cooking. I keep meaning to go back and build his story more, because he's a great vehicle to talk about the ups and downs of the creative process. Here are some Moldy Oldies of Zor from a few years ago
Six panels with no text, showing the large, friendly-looking, goat-like beast, Zor, excitedly undertaking the process of baking his own birthday cake.

The cake fails, a puddle of liquid batter in the middle. Zor weeps against a wall while a poster of his idol, Julia Child, beams cheerfully upon the scene.

Seated at a table, Zor stares at his failure, dejected, until...Single panel - SCHLORP goes the sound of a spoon digging into the pile of goop that was supposed to be his birthday cake. A single candle tops the confectionery hillock.Close-up of Zor's face brightening in pleasant surprise. His goat ears fly up with a ZING and hearts float above his horns. The goop tastes amazing!Tears well up in Zor's eyes as he beams down at his beloved mistake. "Happy Zor Day" he thinks to himself.

It was great fun to revisit the D3 podcast episodes and draw this along with them! Thank you, Em, for organizing the card and giving folks a chance to express their appreciation for a banger first year. Looking forward to year two! @d3podcastshow.bsky.social
The four players of the D3 podcast, each drawn in a cartoonish style and in their own panel with Neil, their "God DM" in the middle. The drawing is lousy with visual references to jokes and events in the podcast.

The PRICC Lady strikes again. Do we believe her? #strandedcomics
Panel 1
The artist sits at her work desk with the mosquito-nosed, bespectacled PRICC Lady looming over her with a clipboard.
Artist: I just want to work on what I want to work on!
PRICC Lady: You can't yet.

Panel 2
PRICC Lady: First, you must do... 5 minutes of line and shape exercises to warm up,
10 minutes of gesture drawing to loosen up,
20 minutes of face studies,
watch a 60 minute tutorial on figure drawing and do its relevant exercises - AND THEN, you may draw whatever you want.

Panel 3
Artist: I won't have energy after all that!

Panel 4:
The PRICC Lady leans down intimidatingly close to the artist's face.
PRICC Lady: You want to be a professional artist, do you not? PROFESSIONAL ARTISTS NEVER DRAW WHAT THEY WANT (the speech bubble bleeds)

A tiny Grumptipus pops up from the bottom of the panel and quietly challenges, "is that so?".

You ever anthropomorphize your own perfectionism? My perfectionism looks like 1940s mosquito lady over here. She's a drag. #strandedcomics
Panel 1: The frustrated artist tried to concentrate as a 1940s style mosquito-nosed bureaucrat hovers over her shoulder with a clipboard, taking notes.

Panel 2:
Artist - Do you have to loom over my shoulder like that?
Mosquito lady - Yes. I have been assigned by the committee to make sure your work is FLAWLESS.

Panel 3:
Artist - Committee?? WHAT committee?
ML - The Perfectionist Review and Internal Criticism Committee.

Panel 4:
A: The "Prick"??
ML: NO. The P.R.I.C.C. That's one point docked for vulgarity.

I don't have a problem, I swear.
A Four-panel monochrome comic strip.

Panel 1
A cartoony avatar of cartoonist herself (Stranded), with large eyes and long hair billowing over one side of her head, which is shaved on the other side, is absorbed in her phone, looking mesmerized.
A pointy eared, grumpy-looking creature of pure murk known as The Grumptipus, leans in from the side and says,
"You're doing it again"

Stranded: Doing what?

Panel 2
Grumptipus: Allowing Zuck to steal your time away.
Stranded: No I'm not.

Panel 3
The Grumptipus (off panel): Did you take that walk you meant to?
Stranded (looking annoyed): No
Grumptipus: How about that comic you wanted to draw?
Stranded:...NO...

Panel 4
The Grumptipus: Your stream starts in thirty minutes.
Stranded: OKAY! OKAY! PHONE IS DOWN!!

Sharing another Moldy Oldie, this time from 2021. It's the very first appearance of Zor, a friendly beast who hosts his own cooking show. He's very, ehm, *enthusiastic* about persimmons... You can see this "Magnificent Rando" and more at strandedcomics.com

I made this last August, but it seems relevant to air travel in the US *now* for some reason... Context: this is actually a giveaway drawing I did on stream, inspired by single word prompts that viewers gave me, a human artist! :D Anyway, the prompts were tomato, airport, dam, window, and... ass.
Striking Airport Staff Adorn the Windows with Tomatoes and Ass, is the title of this single panel cartoon.

The striking workers throw tomatoes at the airport windows as a plane flies in the background. One worker holds a placard that says "STRIKE" in bold letters. They are all angry, one is flipping the bird, and one is pressing his butt against the window, a "pressed ham", if you will.

A passenger inside, looking at the rowdiness outside, says to himself, "Well DAMN, that's *my* flight cancelled then".

@celestay.bsky.social gave some much needed care to my long suffering OC, Malek. I love how the light warms his face after so many years hiding in dark places. And whose hand is that? We'll have to see. Thank you for drawing him, Celeste!
Portrait of a heavily tattooed drow half-elf in side profile. A heavily textured burn scar wraps across his cheek and over the nose. He has facial tattoos along the side of his cranium and neck.

He is looking up into a warm sunny light, smiling slightly. The person he sees is out of frame, but their kind hand gently lifts his chin to meet their gaze.

Okay, so the last episode of the D3 podcast had me chuckling over this guy, so I had to try drawing him. Here's Rog, the Hot Sahuagin! ...or Handsome Sahuagin, if you prefer. He's not like the other sahuagin. He has a speech impediment. From ep 120 of @d3podcastshow.bsky.social

Moldy Oldie #2! A "Magnificent Rando" from 2014 that still makes me giggle. A lone hiker gets existential about an ant he just stepped on.
Panel 1: Close-up of an ant minding its own business, doing ant things.
Panel 2: WHUMP! Out of nowhere, a hiker's boot flattens the ant.
Panel 3: The hiker thinks to himself, "...why did I kill that ant? I just as easily could have walked over it..."
Panel 4: His train of thought continues, "But now it's dead, simply on my whim...I bet other ants in the colony depended on this one. I wonder if they'll notice she's gone, or miss her. Do ants even have feelings?"
Panel 5: Medium shot of the hiker deep in thought, "Regardless, I shouldn't just crush other living things because I can. Even a tiny ant's life has some importance, doesn't it?"
Panel 6: [Resolute] "From now on, I'm going to make a point of --" [SPLAT] Out of nowhere, a NASA space module flattens the hiker.

I'm calling this upcoming series of posts "Moldy Oldies", ancient comics of mine that haven't seen the light of day in many years and need airing out in the sun. Behold! The very first appearance of Leora, from 2014.
This comic is called 101 Creative Uses for a Pencil. It's a top down, left to right text orientation with six images contained in a cloud-like thought bubble, and two lower panels surrounded by straight boxes.
In the large thought bubble, which represents someone brainstorming ideas for what to do with a pencil, each image shows a creative way to use a pencil. The last one, however, is suddenly quite disturbing.

Someone shouts the teacher's name and we realize that this brainstorming session was occurring in an elementary school classroom where two children, a boy and a girl, are grouped with Pinhead from Hellraiser (of all people). Why, I cannot say, but he's there looking out of place.

The boy informs the teacher that Pinhead is creeping them out again, and the teacher with appropriate irritation admonishes Pinhead and directs him to go to the principal's office.

The last and smallest panel in the bottom right corner zooms in on the little girl's sullen and disappointed expression. She secretly relates to Pinhead.

What follows is the text of the comic:
101 Creative Uses for a Pencil!
Make a space mobile.
Calculate the circumference of the Earth.
Scratch your brain.
Poke at toads.
IMPALE EVERY ORIFICE OF YOUR OWN FACE!!

Boy: Mrs. Kenyan! He's creeping us out again!

Teacher: Pinhead! What have I told you about succumbing to your demonic urges in class? You can go cool yourself down in the principal's office, mister!

Girl: (thinking) I feel your pain, Pinhead.

Behold! The D3 Podcast herself coyly lifts her skirts to reveal a salacious ankle! Quelle horreur, the scandal! Listen to the beginning of episode 5 on Patreon to know what this refers to...and then listen to the rest of it because it's freakin' hilarious @d3podcastshow.bsky.social
A cheeky elf maiden in a long red gown lifts her skirts coyly (but consentingly) to reveal a salacious ankle! Oh my! She stands on a stage, framed by spotlight and red curtains, smiling at us while a group of cartoony commenters judge and argue about her. On her bustle are the words The D3 Podcast. The hat, spectacles, earrings, and sword she wears each allude to one of the four players on the podcast.

Lot of us out here building our tables. This one's for you. www.strandedcomics.com
A four panel comic strip where the strange Batman-like, heavy-browed creature, The Grumptipus, dispenses some encouragement.
Panel 1: Grumptipus says, "You deserve a place at the table!"
Panel 2: "Even if..." (He is sitting at a small table selling cheap comics)
Panel 3: "... it's 'the kids' table'..." (Wide shot of Grumptipus sitting at his table, which is below a professional artist's booth who's selling fabulous art)
Panel 4: "...and you built it yourself." (View reveals that the Grumptipus is sitting behind a cardboard box, and he's flipping off any would-be haters with both hands)

The Grumptipus gets inspired.
A strange, gray and grumpy humanoid creature called The Grumptipus hikes through a forested path of cherry trees in full pink bloom. Caption: "I took a walk to see the cherry blossoms today,"The Grumptipus continues up the hill path, surrounded by delicate pink blossoms dancing in the wind. Caption: "Immersed in the fleeting beauty of the transcendent blossoms...I looked deep into my soul for inspiration..."The Grumptipus sits in a meditative pose, his backpack set down next to him, as pink petals whirl all around. Caption: "...and channeled it into a masterpiece..."The Grumptipus sits at his drawing tablet, an expression of self-satisfied pride on his face as he has just finished making a comic. Caption: "...about farts."
The Grumptipus: "Ah, the scent of Triumph!"

A portrait of Neil Newbon as his BG3 character, Astarion, popularly known as 'Neilstarion'. There are many like it but this one is mine. It contains some elements fans of Neil and Astarion may recognize. It's called, "What Do You See, Exactly?"
A pale man with white hair and a slight smile on his lips, gazing straight at the viewer, holds a mirror in front of his chest. He wears a sleek purple jacket, and a bloody tear trickles from his left eye, suggesting his vampiric nature. The background is blood red haloed by darkness.
