In this case, they were referring to the Socialist Rifle Association, a known group who often shows up to protests to disseminate information. Nothing scary, just a group like the NRA, but for socialists. Lol.

I just read an obvious attempt at a smear story against Graham Platner that frames him as having ties to a "far-left paramilitary group," and I honestly thought to myself "oh, he's way cooler than I even thought."

As a leftist, using social media now basically feels like an endless repetitive process whereby you are inundated with obvious lies and falsehoods, rage baited into responding with facts, and then laughed at by people who believe vaccines cause autism.

Today on FB, I came across perhaps one of the funnier posts I've seen on the platform in a long time. It was someone asking MAGA to explain what Jim Crow was. Sure enough, 98% of the comments failed to answer the question, and those that did used AI. Most comments were "The Dems are the racists!"

I have this funny feeling that the politics of an empty wallet will ensure that despite every effort to cheat, Republicans are going to lose big in November.

Algorithms have made social media sites anti-social for the sole purpose of encouraging rage bait to create the kind of engagement that keeps eyes glued to their pages.

"I declare Zuckerberg is not allowed to use my data" is the new "no copyright infringement intended." Also, yes it is genuinely maddening how uninformed and misinformed so many transphobes are, but I think the bigger problem is their selective belief that "one case is too many."

For fuck sake, MELANIA TRUMP would have more right to claim herself a citizen than even DONALD TRUMP if they took away birthright citizenship, because his only actual claim to citizenship is by birthright! MAGA won't take even two seconds to think through the arguments they are being fed.
000
Stoudman @stoud.bsky.social · 02/04/2026
If there is no birthright citizenship, then naturalized citizens who have actually put in the work to become a citizen would suddenly have more right to claim citizenship than most of the white conservatives who are simply parroting Trump's nonsense about this issue.
100
Stoudman @stoud.bsky.social · 02/04/2026
I seriously don't understand how conservatives are convincing themselves that birthright citizenship is a bad thing. Like...99% of the people suggesting we get rid of it is literally only a citizen by birthright, which means that their citizenship would be in question if we got rid of it.

The guy who practically BEGGED IRAN TO RE-OPEN THE STRAIT OF HORMUZ after he fucked this whole thing up for no reason, just on a whim? That guy? The guy GROVELING, BEGGING FOR HELP from other nations and "offering" Iran tax free passage in the Strait for 30 days? How is that "strong"?
110
Stoudman @stoud.bsky.social · 23/03/2026
And we fucking deserve it. I don't think anyone deserves to die for this, but we definitely deserve the justifiable hate we're getting from people and leaders around the world. How can anyone think this looks like a position of strength? Do you really think Trump looks strong right now?
100
Stoudman @stoud.bsky.social · 23/03/2026
Have we ever looked worse than we do right now? Like holy fuck, nobody likes us, nobody wants to help us help Israel, everybody is absolutely fucking done with us, and we've all but admitted defeat without saying those exact words by admitting "yeah, Iran is going to make us pay $200 a barrel."
110
Stoudman @stoud.bsky.social · 23/03/2026
Trump asks partner nations to step in and help open the Strait of Hormuz, and pretty much all of them refuse to do so. Hell, a French military leader essentially told him to go fuck himself in so many words. Has this country ever looked weaker on the world stage?
100
Stoudman @stoud.bsky.social · 23/03/2026
Meanwhile, Trump's admin quietly admits that they now expect prices to soar to $175 a barrel for oil, suggesting it won't be back down to $100 until the end of 2027. This is an admission that Trump's admin now believes Iran's initial threat of $200 a barrel was not far off the mark.
100
Stoudman @stoud.bsky.social · 23/03/2026
Iran says "we have no oil to ship," basically giving Trump the middle finger. It's impossible to see this as anything other than a bully punching someone, they take their toys and go home, the bully apologizes, and the victim refuses to accept their apology. And why should they have to?
110
Stoudman @stoud.bsky.social · 23/03/2026
So let me get this straight. Audio recordings implicate Trump making the decision to start this war of his own volition. Iran closes Strait of Hormuz in response, warns Americans to expect $200 a barrel. Trump relents, tells Iran to open the Strait free of charge to get oil moving.

Retro 1980's Vintage Radical Leftist T-Shirt
Whether you're one of the millions of Gen X / Millennials who find themselves more aligned with leftist views than any other political perspective, or you just dig the style of the 80s and want to share your political alignment, this totally awesome design is a fun and clever way to do so while also possibly putting a smile on a few faces. After all, you're not just any kind of leftist, you're a righteously radical leftist!

A brief overview on why the AI Bubble is not just a 'Dot Com' or even just a '2008'; but something existentially threatening to Capitalism.
Cascade Dynamics
Why this isn't just "AI bubble pops, startups fail, move on"

The Perpetual Motion Machine In Reverse

On the way up:

ZIRP → Yen carry trade profitable
Carry trade → Private credit boom
Private credit → AI speculation fundable
AI speculation → NVIDIA/tech stocks soar
Tech stocks → Collateral for MORE carry trades

Perpetual motion: Each layer feeds the next

On the way down:

AI hype slows → Valuations questioned
Valuations drop → Private credit loans underwater
Private credit defaults → Lenders demand redemptions
Redemptions → Must unwind carry trades
Yen carry unwind → Yen strengthens, dollar assets sold
Dollar assets sold → Tech stocks crater
Tech stocks crater → Collateral vanishes
Collateral vanishes → Margin calls cascade

Anti-perpetual motion: Each layer accelerates the next DOWN

The least surprising thing ever. Turns out when you base your algorithms around triggering people into responding to shit they don't even like or want to see can fuck with their head. Who knew??? God, it's like having a fucking bully dictate what you will and won't see at all times.

History rhymes. Back in the 30s and 40s, a lot of American politicians actually sided with the Nazis, and others like you did what they could with limited power. I just wish it didn't always have to be like this, we should be able to stop evil when we see it.

Getting out in front of that makes them look like the hypocrite. Trying to pretend it's okay when Pelosi does it because technically it's legal makes YOU look like a hypocrite. Get it yet?

What is it with libs always getting so God damn tribal, it's actually in your benefit to acknowledge that both are instances of corruption, because if you haven't figured out the far right playbook by now, their response is about to be "but Pelosi."
100
Stoudman @stoud.bsky.social · 16/11/2025
Okay, if I point out that Trump using his power and influence to make money on the stock market 157 times is similar to what Nancy Pelosi has done in the past, I don't need some lib to remind me that what she did was legal, the point is it's wrong BOTH TIMES for the SAME REASON.

All I'm saying is this can't be working for them. There is no way that this specific aspect of their videos is actually proving beneficial to their numbers in any way, shape, or form, I refuse to believe it. In this "give me what I want now or I'll find it somewhere else" culture? Come on.

Stoudman @stoud.bsky.social · 06/10/2025
All you have to do is show a short clip from whatever the clickbait happens to be, then you can go through your schpiel and eventually show the full thing -- but if I can't even see what you've promised, and I'm waiting 5-6 minutes to hear or see anything about it, I'm going to get annoyed.
100
Stoudman @stoud.bsky.social · 06/10/2025
And look, I'm a leftist and overall I value what these two do -- we're on the same side here -- but this kind of content creation isn't natural, it doesn't flow well, and it feels/appears just as carefully crafted to accomplish a specific goal as it almost certainly is. It feels phony.
100
Stoudman @stoud.bsky.social · 06/10/2025
The only effect is that now I'm searching through your videos to find the specific content I want from them and ignoring the rest of it. You're not convincing me to stay engaged on your video by making me wait for the entree. I would not be surprised if your analytics show this to be the case.
100
Stoudman @stoud.bsky.social · 06/10/2025
Generally speaking, if you don't show people the content you promised immediately, they will click off the video and they might even be less likely to trust you as a source. Forcing them to wade through a bunch of other news first before getting to the point just makes people want to stop watching.
100
Stoudman @stoud.bsky.social · 06/10/2025
I think what annoys me the most about Youtube Channels like @adammockler.com or @lukebeasley.bsky.social is that they seem to be following the same flawed clickbait playbook. The problem isn't the clickbait, it's their crass attempts to keep people engaged for 5 min before showing the clickbait.
