Found my old gameboy with my red version still in it. I somehow completed the Pokédex except for Ivysaur.

A gameboy color that has yellowed with age. It is turned on and shows a Pokemon game on the screen. The Pokemon displayed is a level 47 mew.

There's definitely battery replacement kits that you can get that are pretty cheap I restored a game boy advance cartridge and it played great! Godspeed!!

Like I said it's not a better system in terms of longevity maybe it was a better system for then at the time.

I guess they started making them crappier and crappier starting at that gen. 😩 They definitely don't make them like they used to.

I internally groaned the time I was talking to a Blizzard recruiter and he asked me if he could use ChatGPT to take notes about my interview with him. Pretty much immediately turned me off (further) from wanting to work there. The disrespect! Might as well spit in my face

I would absolutely be thrilled to live in Washington State I think it's gorgeous It's just way too expensive. I'd be working at the pokémon company right now if I lived there. At least a daydream about that.

I'm still out here playing the original. The animation's a little janky and the English dub is god-awful except for the narration, But with the Japanese voices it really holds up.

Whatever you do, don't play 12. You will think that you just want to get all of the summons and that will be too much of your precious life to waste on such a boring game.

Final fantasy wise: obviously Kefka, but most of them, I think. I don't even think Sephiroth is redeemable bc he might be dead, or just not human anymore. Not Kuja, though. Maybe Seymour too, but only with loads of therapy.

As somebody who just started replaying 10 because they were talking to a friend about how amazing the game & how perfect the narrative is, I agree. 💕

I'm so sorry you had to go through that. I never understand people who think that anime is all p*** or all cartoons are for kids but then I remember they've probably only seen DBZ or demon City Shinjuku 17 times 😩

I mean we elected a reality show host and conman as president and then he appointed a meme department to destroy everything so why not have pizza balls as Pope. Turn everything into a meme.

Also if you feel strongly about Eric Adams, you should call your city councilmember to express that and ask for their position. You’d be surprised. Hochul’s stance is highly disappointing but it doesn’t come from nowhere. Press all your electeds. City elections are in 5 months. Ask candidates too.

@larianstudios.com how does a mid career creative transfer her skills to a game design, narrative design or support role in the games industry? Over 20 years of art design management, creation and production experience plus a huge life long video game player and former comic book creator. Help!

Greed wins over having a healthy company that grows. Now people are anxious if your company is doing badly and if your company is doing well then you're really anxious because the greedy CEO is after your paycheck.

God I am so sick of men in power not taking responsibility and doing their jobs. Like you were elected by the people you have to listen to them.

000

Stormvexed @stormvexed.bsky.social · 22/02/2025

I'll take anything at this point. I know that there are other jobs that are support jobs at these AAA companies that I am perfectly competent and able to do... And that's where the transferable skills come in. But I can't seem to make that clear.

000

Stormvexed @stormvexed.bsky.social · 22/02/2025

I know no one's going to see this but if anybody has any recommendations for a person to ask or a company that might have an internship because I know that would be much more helpful. But of course those are few and far between and the competition is fierce.

Stormvexed @stormvexed.bsky.social · 22/02/2025

I just don't know how to go about this mid-career because I don't want to start all over again and I don't think I should have to. There are things that I am learning fresh like new applications that are completely new to me but there's also things that I don't want to work in. I'm art and writing.

100

Stormvexed @stormvexed.bsky.social · 22/02/2025

And I would be happy to specialize just on narrative design but it seems like all the jobs require you to have all of these other skills that half of them I do but I can't really prove that I can just tell them I'm good at it. Their skills that you can't really put in a portfolio?

100

Stormvexed @stormvexed.bsky.social · 22/02/2025

And with ADHD I am getting overwhelmed and I'm shutting down and then I go I still want to work at these companies and I start over again and I think maybe taking a program would help... Then I start looking at the programs and of course they're not very good but they also want you to specialize.

And I'm not just starting from unknown industries that don't compare to the video game industry I've been a huge geek all my life I have so much knowledge that I've just accumulated by myself outside of school and work... And I might be rusty in a few areas, But I have professional experience.
