Anyway thank you for your service 🫡 As far as I'm concerned any restaurant (aside from Steaks and Cakes Which I'm sure already honors your service) or zoo or w/e should give y'all Vet Discounts

Like you've read The Christmas Sweater and stuff like Dianetics and maybe it's because I haven't listened to those in years but I don't think y'all sounded as soul crushed then. But that WAS early in the podcast.

I like how I went "A friend told me how bleak this book is, I'm probably going to need to limit myself to X minutes a day of this episode until I finish it" and then immediately playing the episode I can hear the sheer EXHAUSTION and DEFEAT in everyone's voices.

Like yes I know that's Boston's public transit and not Chicago's but someone needs to step up / I hope this somehow fits into Roth's Divergent AU that I plan on reading once I finish the original series.

lapis / Rae A. Shell @stonebird.bsky.social · 06/10/2026

I regret to inform you (admittedly I'm not signed in) but putting "M.T.A. (song)" as a tag (that's what the song is officially called) in Divergent - All Media Types as a filter gets you ZERO results

A screenshot of Ao3 on my phone showing zero results for my filtering query which makes me sad

I was describing the basic premise of the first book to my brother (along with some 3rd book spoilers I know) and I was explaining that The El is constantly running but seemingly never stopping so to commute to school as a born-Dauntless you have to jump on and off it

So I'm reading older (past ~15 years) YA dystopia fiction. So rereading The Hunger Games (the books are still show-stoppingly-good) and trying out Divergent both because I never read it and also for the new AU series

020

lapis / Rae A. Shell @stonebird.bsky.social · 29/09/2026

Maybe I'm too starry-eyed but I am baffled why the commercial response to Heated Rivalry was *not* at a MINIMUM "the people yearn for queer (sports) stories" and instead "Ah yes people yearn for Hockey Bros in Heterosexual relationships"

120

lapis / Rae A. Shell @stonebird.bsky.social · 29/09/2026

I'm really hoping that there's going to a "Check, Please!" adaption as a result of the Heated Rivalry success, and of course I'd like to see some queer hockey romances (both WLW and MLM) greenlit that were written by authors of those genders.

I am not necessarily advocating for "Sites I am please email me" because I am deluged with emails regardless, but there really HAS to be a better solution than "Btw this TV Show exists hope that helps 🤗"

010

lapis / Rae A. Shell @stonebird.bsky.social · 28/09/2026

Tbh the only reason I ever knew a book sequel was coming out was Goodreads would email me. No other book social media (AFAIK) does this. So far Netflix only informs me of "new" things if they algorithmically know I don't care--they never informed me of second seasons of things I liked.

110

lapis / Rae A. Shell @stonebird.bsky.social · 28/09/2026

I'll be honest the only reason I knew this movie existed at all is because this month's #FinchApp event was about it. That's also basically how I knew about the Supergirl movie.
