In ass creed my only verbs are really sneak and kill. A Bethesda RPG lets you at least try a few other approaches to some situations and that matters. 110

You can talk to anyone you see, even if it's just to ask for rumors. You get new quests when you ask people about what's going on locally or just overhear conversations. There's a definite vibe difference that I think makes a big difference in how I feel about the games. The older beth games feel like a genuine if flawed effort to make a living world. 110
