Just got some film back from the lab and it's a roll where I had to open the back of the camera a couple of times to unjam the film, exposing it to the light. Lots of photos ruined and one massively improved.
A badly light-degraded Kodak Ultramax film fram of a cat looking into the camera with half lidded eyes. The light leak has caused the top part of the image to look very blue and the bottom part to look pink in a manner reminiscent of the bisexual pride flag.

I know it's LLM generated but it's reflective of how these things are covered. Sweeping right wing reforms are just "reforms" while even modest slightly left-of-centre changes are "socialist reforms". Only one side of the spectrum gets the scary ideological prefix
Bluesky's trending topics panel with "Andy Burnham pushes socialist reforms" in the number one spot.

A four panel meme featuring Anakin and Padme.

- In the first panel Anakin says "I'll be advising the Tories on how young men become radicalised"
- In the second Padme says "to stop it happening right?", with a smile on her face
- In the third Anakin simply looks at her slyly without saying anything
- In the fourth Padme repeats "to stop it happening right?" with a look of concern.

this one?
"Sometimes people use "respect" to mean "treating someone like a person" and sometimes they use "respect" to mean "treating someone like an authority"

and sometimes people who are used to being treated like an authority say "if you won't respect me I won't respect you" and they mean "if you won't treat me like an authority I won't treat you like a person"

and they think they're being fair but they aren't, an it's not okay."

Pairing an Altman quote with a Ruskin quote is the equivalent of doing a murder. Ruskin's words are florid and passionate, Altman's is hollow and built around a bullshit formula in a desperate attempt to sound smart whilst carping on about optimisation and maximisation. The man is barren.
"Language matters." Compare John Ruskin and Sam Altman on art and creativity, for example. Ruskin argued "that great art, whether expressing itself in words, colours, or stones, does not say the same thing over and over again; that the merit of architectural, as of every other art, consists in its saying new and different things; that to repeat itself is no more characteristic of genius in marble that it is of genius in print...Nothing is a great work of art, for the production of which either rules or models can be given".

A couple of centuries later, Altman had this to say: "Everything 'creative' is a remix of things that happened in the past, plus epsilon and times the quality of the feedback loop and number of iterations. People think they should maximise epsilon but the trick is to maximise the other two"."

The NX-01 bridge has aged a bit worse, primarily because those monitors are just so obviously chonky 2000s era LCD monitors. But ignoring the LCD-ness of them, you could argue their chonk is to make them more robust.

It's funny how, to my eye, the 2009 Enterprise bridge looks super-dated now whilst all the bridges from TNG, DS9 and VOY hold up pretty well IMO. The Apple store aesthetic just aged like milk.

The website has literally crashed for me now so here you go, read it and weep.
"Today we’re announcing an update on plans for the future of Doctor Who.

As part of securing the next phase of the show for future generations, and in line with the BBC’s Charter and Agreement requirements, the BBC will put Doctor Who out to competitive tender this year. Doctor Who remains an important part of the BBC and this tender underpins the BBC’s continued commitment to Doctor Who ensuring audiences will enjoy the show for years to come.

After careful consideration, the BBC, Russell T Davies and Bad Wolf have collectively decided not to go ahead with the previously announced Doctor Who Christmas episode. This decision was not taken lightly, and we know it will be disappointing for fans, but in order to set the show up for future series, it was decided that rather than bridge the gap with a one off special, we are choosing to push forward to invest in the long-term future of the show which ensures that when the TARDIS lands once more, it does so in all its glory.

The previously announced new Doctor Who animation series for CBeebies is currently in production.

Details of the tender will be announced in due course.

The BBC retains all IP in Doctor Who. BBC Studios will continue to lead the global distribution of Doctor Who as well as licensing, consumer products, digital and immersive experiences on behalf of the BBC. "
