This plan shows that Mayor Mamdani has listened to the concerns of Jewish New Yorkers — and put forward meaningful commitments and real funding to help keep them safe. Our full statement on NYC's first-ever municipal strategy to combat antisemitism:
A M N Y headlien: "Mamdani unveils long-awaited antisemitism strategy with $7.4M for prevention, security." "The Nexus Project appreciates and encourages the implementation of Mayor Zohran Mamdani's Strategy to Combat Antisemitism. We are pleased to see the Nexus Document included among the tools that the New York City government will utilize to identify and confront antisemitism."Quote from Jonathan Jacoby, President, The Nexus Project: "“This plan shows that Mayor Mamdani has listened to the concerns of Jewish New Yorkers — and put forward meaningful commitments and real funding to help keep them safe. Mayor Mamdani’s strategy is rooted in an important recognition that confronting antisemitism is a critical part of the wider struggle against bigotry. Jews have always thrived in pluralistic democracies. When we defend one another and build a society where no group can be singled out for discrimination, we're all safer and more secure.”Quote from Jonathan Jacoby, President, The Nexus Project: “We're proud and encouraged to see the Nexus Document is helping guide how New York City understands and responds to antisemitism.

Building this strategy on a strong, pluralistic framework will help stem the rise in antisemitism while protecting the free expression and civil liberties that keep all of us safe.”Quote from Jonathan Jacoby, President, The Nexus Project: “We are particularly encouraged to see the strategy double funding for the Partners Against the Hate (PATH) program as well as significant investment in new resources to secure synagogues, nonprofits and other vulnerable institutions as well as expanding Holocaust and Jewish history and culture education.

This is a very important first step. The strategy’s success now depends on implementation and turning a plan into real action with real impact. We call on everyone across the ideological spectrum to help make it succeed — by offering feedback, working with city and communal partners, and encouraging the mayor's office to deliver on this promise.”

Instead of adopting the flawed IHRA definition, checking a box, and moving on, @mayor.nyc.gov is taking meaningful, concrete action to fight antisemitism. Other municipalities should take note, take antisemitism seriously, and follow his lead.

This week, Trump referred to the American Jewish community as "Israel." This is just the latest episode in Trump's long history of invoking the antisemitic dual loyalty trope, and indeed fully conflating American Jews with Israel, while complaining about how Jewish people vote.

Speaking of typos, someone should direct Ms. Dhillon to U.S. v. Murphy, 406 F.3d 857, 859 n.1 (7th Cir. 2005), aka the greatest footnote in appellate court history. scholar.google.com/scholar_case...
Tweet by Dhillon calling conservative influencers “hoes”.“The trial transcript quotes Ms. Hayden as saying Murphy called her a snitch bitch "hoe." A "hoe," of course, is a tool used for weeding and gardening. We think the court reporter, unfamiliar with rap music (perhaps thankfully so), misunderstood Hayden's response. We have taken the liberty of changing "hoe" to "ho," a staple of rap music vernacular as, for example, when Ludacris raps "You doin' ho activities with ho tendencies."”
