Excited our ratiometric transcriptional activation (RTA) work led by postdoc Dr. Melissa Gray is out online today in Cell @cp-cell.bsky.social! Measurements determine what we can discover in biology; we use RTA to turn protein abundance changes into amplified signals in live cells.

Ratiometric transcriptional activation by protein degradation
By tethering a protein of interest to anti-CRISPR, protein degradation is transformed into amplified and programmable transcriptional outputs via Cas-based transcription factors, with sensitivity to p...

Excited to share our work on a new way to sense protein abundance changes. Protein loss has been a defining phenotype for biological, and more recently, small molecule discovery, and we wondered what we could discover w/ greater scale+sensitivity.

Incredibly proud of @christineisadora.bsky.social for defending her PhD work today! The first PhD from the Banik lab, and an amazing story on targeted protein relocalization and TRAMs! Her PhD work spans small molecules, neurobiology, cell engineering, and computational method development.

Amazing to see the LYTAC technology get to this point, catalytic extracellular degraders could open many new therapeutic opportunities or perhaps even become standard of care compared to antagonistic antibodies alone. Congrats to Lycia Tx!
