Your gadgets aren’t melting. They’re just… aging weirdly. Plastic gets sticky, but you don’t have to be stuck with it. Learn how to clean up your devices and make them usable again at the link below. www.ifixit.com/News/93833/a... — #iFixit #RightoRepair #FixTheWorld

Yeah, the dew point today was 54F. That's what we get on our humid days in the summer and is pretty ridiculous to see in the winter.

I just read that Brendan Gregg, author of the most comprehensive book on Linux performance I know of, has left Intel to pursue another position elsewhere. It will be interesting to see where he lands and how that will change Linux: www.brendangregg.com/blog//2025-1...

Watching the ever-cheerful Rick Steves describe fascism with a smile on his face was very off-putting. Informative, but... Odd. Definitely worth watching!

The doubly linked article on troubleshooting is very good. He describes the importance of "divide, test, repeat" with enough details and suggestions.

Manning liveProjects are not for everyone. Often there is a lot of self-training involved to get them done. Chris's first project is a great framework for learning and the second one will probably get $10 out of me later today.

One of my old LED dimmable spotlights from 2010 finally burned out. I've had a lot of trouble finding LED bulbs that can dim down to a low level, which led me down an LED dimming rabbit hole to this very interesting trade conference paper: assets.lutron.com/a/documents/... This is normal, right?

It's great that this group put together a list of all their local officials and even found a bunch of them on Bluesky. After watching a recent Leeja Miller video (www.youtube.com/watch?v=gydU...) about how useful this is, I tried to do the same for myself and it easily killed 6 hours of research.

Asked Gemini if I should trust AI. It says that I should ensure transparency by learning "about the AI's architecture, training data, and limitations." This led to an obvious follow-up question:
Gemini won't provide transparency when asked.

A coworker recently recommended the "stern" utility for troubleshooting. It tails a large number of Kubernetes container logs in a single color-coded stream. While it produces a firehose of data, this is often just what one needs when the source of the problem is a mystery. github.com/stern/stern
